One of the problems we have with most board games is that either the kids are bored and the adults entertained, or the reverse is true. This game is an exception
The game is easy to learn, fun to play, and infinitely frustrating when your carefully laid plans get blown to heck by another player. The game requires some thought, a bit of strategy and a modicum of luck, but my 11 year old often dusts the adults, so it is not so difficult that children will lose interest.
The game involves traversing your way through a constantly changing maze; some pieces of the maze are fixed, and cannot be shifted, but most can slide in any of the four compass directions. For me, half the strategy, and fun, is in how to effectively change the maze during your turn so that you can both ... full review(973) -
"Never played it before. Loved it on first playthrough." - By CN (California, USA)
The game board is very well made and looks beautiful too, with sharp lines and good color. The pieces the, selves are cardboard, and although this disappointed me at first, the pieces are actually some tough-ass cardboard if I ever saw it. Rulebook is clear enough. No disappointments in production quality.
Gameplay is tense and I remember multiple times being immersed in the game and the players. I remember everyone writing down orders as fast as they could. I remember being betrayed and betraying others. 10/10 would play again. If i could find more players...(131) -

Price: $29.00 "A puzzle game everyone can enjoy" - By Jonathan L. Schindler
Karuba is a puzzle game that the whole family can enjoy. It's fast, it's tense, it's replayable, and it's just fun.
The gist of the game is that everyone has the same 36 tiles that show paths through the jungle, and everyone's board is setup the same. There are four adventurers (of four different colors) and four temples matching those colors. These are placed on the board.
One player mixes up their tiles and draws one per round, announcing its number Bingo-style. Every player has a decision of what to do with the tile: they can either place it somewhere on their board (anywhere, so long as it isn't rotated) or discard the tile to move their adventurer along a path that's on the board. The goal is to get points, which players get by collecting gems (which are on some of the tiles) and by moving adventurers ... full review(65) -

List Price: $39.99 Price: $30.10 You Save: $9.89 (25%) "This game can be a lot of fun. The rules are fairly simple and the gameplay ..." - By Jon Huddleston (Dallas, TX USA)
This game can be a lot of fun. The rules are fairly simple and the gameplay moves pretty quickly. I upgraded my copy with some cheap Asian coins that I got off of Amazon for very little money. I think they were called "good luck coins" or something. I feel it helps add to the theme of the game.(464) -

As a simple push your luck memory game this is simply brilliant. Clearly intended for children however it's push your luck element ensures it has a much wider appeal. I have played it on trains, in hospitals, in parks and many other places besides with old and young, gamers and non gamers.
Guaranteed to make people laugh whatever their age and it only takes 10 minutes(3) -

We have approximately 120 board games in our home collection and this one is definitely one of my favourites. Queen games produces beautiful wooden pieces and this game has some politics, worker placement, backstabbing at times and intrigue. It is a well balanced middle weight game that will take approximately 60-70 minutes with four players ( it plays with up to five people ). Along with Puerto Rico, and Tigris and Euphrates, a fun game indeed.(6) -

In the past decade, the idea of cooperative boardgames, where everyone wins or loses as a team, has blossomed. As dad of young boys, I enjoy playing games together where we can all be on the same side. In Ghost Fightin’ Treasure Hunters!, players move through a haunted mansion to collect all the Treasure Jewels and escape the house before it is overtaken with ghosts. It is that rarely-seen gem of a game that can be enjoyed by kids or adults.
The game begins with the house stocked with four ghosts and eight gems. Players venture into the house to pick up gems and bring them out the door. However, there are two main problems to solve. First, players can only carry one gem at a time (the player figures even have a little backpack slot to carry them.) Second, almost every turn another ghost is added to the ... full review(53) -
"BEST BOARD GAME EVER!" - By Czechmate3
I played this game all the time with my German grandmother (Oma), when I was a little girl (back in the late 1960s). Still have the original game and most of the pieces. The game was also popular in (then) Czechoslovakia, Oma was raised in former Austro-Hungarian region, spoke Czech and German fluently, and she later lived in Brno (Brun), Czechoslovakia where my mom was born. My father was also born and raised in Brno. In Czech the game is called: Clovece Nezlop Se. Timeless game. The board has two sides - a long route, for several players (up to six, I believe), and a short route for up to four players. We usually played the long side, even if only two of us were playing, but sometimes time was a factor, so we'd have to get in a "quick game". I had passed my original game down to my ... full review(34) -

I love all the A&A games... However, my family isn't quite as fond of them as I am, and it's hard to get any of them to play a strategy board game, with rules that can be a little bit complex at times, for 3+ hours. What with this game normally taking closer to 2 hours and being simpler, they've reacted a bit better to this one than most of the others.
Now, the game plays out a bit different than most of the A&A global games, and should be complex and challenging enough for most A&A veterans. Plus, the new unit molds may interest some fans.
At the same time, the simpler rules and shorter play time should appeal to a larger audience than the others. Also, it's somewhat cheaper than the other A&A games.
I would certainly recommend it.(187) -

"Simple to play, hard to win" - By B. Morris (Richmond, Virginia USA)
German Railways, despite the headers above, is designed for 3 to 5 players ages 12 and up. There are only two things to do on your turn - put up a share of stock for auction or play trains onto the board. The unusual feature is the turn-order mechanism. The higher your potential income in the game, the less likely it is that you will get a turn. This makes it essential for the players with the higher income to buy shares held by those with lower income.
The capriciousness of the turn-order mechanism requires players who are old enough not to sulk when they are excluded from a round. It is not uncommon, however, for a player who has had very few turns to win the game. German Railways is much deeper than its family-friendly surface would indicate. It is profound ... full review(2) -

List Price: $16.99 Price: $11.52 You Save: $5.47 (32%) "love it but..." - By STUART GANDELL
I love this game and use it often in my Occupational Therapy practice with children. It develops fine motor skills, visual perceptual skills, social skills such as turn taking. I have nothing negative to say about the ordering or delivery of the game. They were fine. I do, however some suggestions to make regarding the game itself. First, the game tips easily as it is turned from one player to the next. Secondly, there should be some kind of a carry case for a game with so many pieces. The box does not last long and is cumbersome carried from car to house and back several times a day along with my multitude of other items that I must carry. I am sure many Mom"s wish there was some type of case for all the many pieces especially the marbles rolling around creating a tripping hazard.(567) -

List Price: $39.99 Price: $23.00 You Save: $16.99 (42%) "Strategic Bingo!" - By Jamie E.
Fun game. A simple story concept where you are increasing territories for Rome. Get a "bingo" on a card for the land it stands for. Some territories are easier to earn. Unlike regular bingo, you get to cover an object as it is drawn. Some objects are more rare than others. Also you are working 3 cards/territories at the same time and with limited men/tokens to use on them. So you have to really think about your moves as you can only cover up one object at a time. Once a territory is claimed they can sometimes give you bonuses. Also each card is worth points. Game ends when someone claims 7 cards. All players add up points. Winner is whoever has the most points. There are other bonuses to be earned for certain card products, gaining ... full review(64)
