"Great story" - by Live Outside (Iowa)
I think this book is geared for older children, kids who are at least in the third grade. From looking at its cover and its title, I was hoping it would be something I could read to my 5-year old granddaughter but it just didn’t keep her attention with far too many words on each page and a storyline that didn’t jump out at her. I did enjoy the story but I think it is a story that only older elementary students will be able to enjoy. If you take the time to notice the illustrations, you will see that the beginning illustrations were created using a dull yellow. Something changes within the main characters as the story continues and suddenly the illustrations burst out with color. It isn’t till the final pages of the novel when another change occurs, this time the pages are ... full review

"A Madness, Murder, and Mayhem Sandwich" - by Moderate Risk (Lakeland, Florida United States)
This book has a really great title: "Gold!: Madness, Murder, and Mayhem in the Colorado Rockies." It also has a positively eye-catching cover. I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I must say that this book is like a Murder, Mayhem and Madness sandwich. There is quite a bit of reading in the front part of what could be called vignettes of recent gold hunters and their challenges today. There are also interviews with people who remember or had gold prospectors in their families. You also learn about the dangers of pursuing gold. There are in-depth discussions about towns come and gone and methods used and dangers faced. The middle is where most of the Madness, Murder, and Mayhem occurs. The back third of the book deals with living people involved in the pursuit of gold today as well as the gold rush country and back roads today. Whether or not ... full review

"A GREAT who-done-it mystery that keeps you guessing to the end!" - by Merry a Vero Beach, FL Reviewer (Vero Beach, Florida United States)
This is the second book of the Ginger Gold Mystery Series and picks up where the first one left off. BUT you can read this as a standalone. The author has written fun and easy to like characters. Ginger Gold AKA Lady Gold has come back to England after begin gone for most of her young life in Boston to settle her father's estate which includes this large house with servants. Her close friend Haley has also come with her to attend the Woman's School of Medicine working to become a doctor. On a steamship on the way back to England not only do they help to solve a murder on the ship (book 1), but Ginger receives a telegram from the butler in the house in England that there was a dead body found in the attic rooms of the house. And so begins an incredibly well put ... full review

"Very sensuous, unique and beautifully written!" - by Smooch (CA)
This is my first book by this author and I think she is a beautiful writer! She is very descriptive in a unique and rich manner. The story flowed well, was NOT predictable, was exciting, very realistic and forced me to be patient. What I mean by "patient" is this: I prefer and enjoy my love stories to be very descriptive and erotic and the coupling to be often - this was definately that but not exactly "often". Don't expect a lot of "sex" but when it comes, it is well worth the wait! In contemplating this story, I think the fact that the author makes you wait and enjoy the courtship between Mattie and Sakote lends the story to be much more realistic and beautiful when they finally do love each other. At first, I was not sure if I was going to be "turned off" by the ... full review

"Ginger Gold is Golden" - by Susan
Once I started reading Murder on the SS Rosa, it was hard to put down. I could hardly wait to move on to the second in the series, and the third, and . . . oops, I have to wait until October for the fourth. If you start now, you can be ready for the fourth about the time it appears. Ginger Gold is a delightful heroine and the interaction between her and Inspector Reed keep the reader wondering who will solve the mystery first and if anything romantic will happen. The series is very well written being fun and easy to read while holding the reader's interest until the last.

"Enjoyable, easy read." - by B. Holzkamm (Hettinger, ND, United States)
I enjoy Susan Mallery's books. The nice thing about the Fool's Gold series is that even though there are many books, you can read each as a stand alone. This book is no exception. While it is fun to see characters from previous books make an appearance, you don't have to read their stories in order to enjoy the current one. In fact, I read Hold Me, Kiss Me, and Thrill Me in one weekend, and that's really not necessary for this series. The writing is such that you really don't have to remember much from the previous books in order to enjoy the book you are on, and that is nice if you have a tendency to devour them hot of the press.

Thrill Me is a fun, light-hearted, one day read. It is not over the top steamy, or incredibly boring, and has ... full review

"The things that can happen in a church may surprise you." - by Kindle Customercatsinacradle (Texas, USA)
This historical cosy series just keeps getting better. Both main and incidental recurring characters are being intriguingly developed. I look forward to more books in the series.
Chief Inspector Basil Reed is back & determined to woo Ginger. Problem is, Ginger is being squired by a friend of Oliver, vicar of St. George Church.
When the choirmaster is felled by a loose organ pipe then pushed off the organ loft,
who in the choir wanted him dead? Basil is delighted to work closely with Ginger but she's not so sure. Several interesting subplots include Oliver's impending nuptials which only he seems happy about taking place so quickly. A few surprises take place as well. A thoroughly enjoyable read.

"Don't be fooled by the bad reviews" - by Amazon Customer (Brasil)
I'm a new fan of Susan Mallery's but I've been hooked by her books and I almost missed the chance to read this one because of the bad reviews.
Yes, Ethan is a flawed man, but he's not a monster. He's caring and he clearly loves his son at the first second he hears of Tyler. His relationship with Liz is complicated and he was a jerk in the past, but they were both victims of circumstance too, besides their part in all the mess.
Anyway, it all feels real and Liz is not stupid. She doesn't simply forgive and forget everything Ethan did to her, he earns her back.
Don't let the back reviews keep you from reading this book. It's really worth it!

"Love the stories" - by Ang4bargins
Love the stories. Love the art. Pays great tribute to the man St Nicholas. The font of the copy is a little hard to read; it is a strange choice for readability.
