"Having problems" - by Ron S.
I like it plenty however...this unit was installed and started up just fine...for the first day. I did notice a slight whirring sound that I thought was unusual. I can hear the fan going but this is an additional sound, louder than the fan, and it changes pitch. When I got home from work the day after it was installed the temperature on the inverter was set at 77 (my wife had raised it from 75 because it was too cool in the room) and the temperature in the room was 71 degrees. I have this unit installed in a combination kitchen, dining and living room of about 800 square feet with 8' ceiling. It continues to cool after the room is way cooler than the temperature it is set at. Then when I turn the temperature setting up a couple degrees it will not cool enough and the room ... full review

"The unit arrived in perfect condition and performs even better than expected for our ..." - by happy gardener
Conservatively packaged and shipped immediately. The unit arrived in perfect condition and performs even better than expected for our garage studio apartment, which is 480 SF. We have used both air and heat since we bought it and we find it to be perfect for our needs. I would recommend to anyone.

"It gets cold. So there's that." - by C8H10N4O2
Wasn't hard to setup and install, but the instructions for the window kit make very little sense. My unit came with three plastic slides, each being 27.5" long. For easier reference, I'll call the slide with the vent hole in it slide A. There's also a slide that fits inside slide A, which I'll call slide B. And then there's a slide C, which is equivalent to slide A, but with no hole.

The installation instructions say the kit will fit windows from 20.5" to 59". It also says cutting will be required if the window is smaller than 20.5". Now, I'm not a mechanical genius by any means, but when you have two slides, each being 27.5", cutting is going to be required if your window is smaller than 27.5". So I have no idea where the 20.5" came from. But there's also the vent hole to take into ... full review

"Works flawlessly" - by Dean E.
Easy install and working flawlessly. I am a retired HVAC technician and have installed many mini splits and this unit is as quiet and performs as well as many units I have installed that costs three times as much as this system. If you are not a HVAC professional you will need help from someone in the industry for a proper installation.

"Perfect!" - by jewelry freak
We bought this for my husbands shop and it works just great. This summer has been brutal, but he's stayed cool. He couldn't be happier. This was perfect for his use.

"a far superior air conditioner/heat pump when compared to its main competitor" - by wm
I also have a GE unit with heat that started malfunctioning after a few months. Compared to the GE unit, this Frigidaire is excellent. The GE unit declares itself to be a heat pump, but I don't think the heat pump has ever properly worked.
The Frigidaire design is good, with plugs where you need them during installation. The internals can be removed from its external housing using its slide plate for easy window installation. The GE can also, but its external housing is extremely thin sheet metal, and it is not tilted for removal of water. You have to buy additional metal components for the GE unit to prevent water from coming inside the house. The Frigidaire unit has a good tilt on it, nothing else needed to buy.
In addition, the control system of the Frigidaire is excellent. In energy saver mode, the ... full review

"Works great" - by Mike
I replaced a different brand that went out after 3 years. This one works better. Some reviews said their electric bill went up, mine did not jump way up. It is in a 600 Sq ft room with 13 insulated aluminum windows. Verrrry happy with it.

"Nice simple to install units" - by George Henry
I'm giving this a 5 start because it's a very good product. I bought 3 of these units and had them shipped to my house in Alabama I live in Hawaii so I told a 2 week vacation to work on my house and when I got there they were waiting for me great shipped and it was Prime which was great. Here's a couple of maybe suggestions I would have. The instruction need to be updated I won't say they were wrong but you really have to read and double check everything I had wired up the units by the instructions and just before powering up I double check and yes I did it wrong because of the way I read it. Very easy to make the mistake. Another suggestion is the measurement for drilling the hole for the copper pipes and mounting the bracket is poor I'm thinking ... full review

"... of my most researched purchase on Amazon what an amazing machine with the 22" - by UberNoob (WALNUT, CA)
one of my most researched purchase on Amazon
what an amazing machine with the 22.8 efficiency rating

it runs so quiet and cools down the room thats west facing in southern california
having such an efficient model has 3 benefits:
1. not much amp is needed, you can run a thinner wire (14 gauge or 16 stranded) for this 220v version
2. being low on amp and easy start on the compressors, it can often be added to existing 220v lines provided you have the proper breakers for the loads on that line
3. I've calculated for my usage in my location, the price difference between a higher efficiency (this model) and a lower one (16~17 SEER) would be paid off in 3 years of use from the energy savings
considering i may use it over 5 years, it is a money saver. use online calculators and do your math to find out which one is best ... full review

"Easy diy install." - by Justin
After a little over a month of using this unit I'm verry pleased with it. Intall was easy, wires are labeled and match the wiring schematic on the cover. Install was a few hours. I have a vacuum pump I use for automotive use and ordered the adapter to fit the mini split. Pulled a vacuum and released the coolant. It blows cold and pulls out the Florida humidity. Very quiet unit both inside and outside units. There are additional features that are on the remote that would be great to have but are not included in this unit. I am very happy with my purchase.

"This is not out of the box kit!" - by Radoslaw S.
Nice system, efficient and quiet.
You need copper lines, not included, such as Frepia line set 1/4 and 3/8. Get at least 10' longer than your designed connection length is.
Both lines must be thermally insulated!
You can do it yourself, but some understanding of vacuum would be helpful.
Having right tools is a must, micron gauge, vacuum pump, torque wrench, manifold and adapters. Good tools will cost you extra ~$800.

"Good Quality Product" - by Pbrd
Ordered online , 2 days later the 2 boxes were waiting at the door. The trick was to find an AC technician to install it. In Phoenix, split AC units for some reason are not that popular yet. Anyways, found a young AC technician from Craigslist and he charged me a total of $950 for adding an exterior line from the electric meter to the location where the Split AC would be installed (like 50 feet long line), including the installation of the split AC unit. Now the unit is installed and works great. It also looks great too.

"Excellent quality. The factory was very accommodating and shipped ..." - by Terry
Excellent quality. The factory was very accommodating and shipped it ASAP when I requested on the early side of shipment estimate - actually arrived one day early. Everything you need for the install is included except the pad the outside unit will rest on and the line set cover (I use a vinyl gutter from Loew's). The install is easy if you have any experience working with basic carpentry and plumbing tools. If not I wouldn't attempt it without guidance. I installed within 3 hours and our local HVAC guy tested the pressure, vacuum and released the refrigerant within a 1 1/2 hour visit. Quiet and easy operation - heats our downstairs 700 sqft space easily. Couldn't be happier
