"This was the recommended book for my MBA class for Financial Accounting" - by KD (Minneapolis, US)
This was the recommended book for my MBA class for Financial Accounting. I've no prior background in Accounting and this my limited knowledge of accounting, but this doesn't seem to be a very good. The professor also conceded that he won't be using this book in the future. I'll explain the reasons:

- Too many typos
- Very verbose
- The examples are stretched out over multiple chapters. Now that's not a bad thing by itself, in fact it adds a layer of consistency. But the parts of the example that is being discussed in subsequent chapters are not repeated in the current chapter but we're asked to go back and refer to the original example in Chapter 1. I found that tiresome.
- Our professor had the key to all the problems at the end of each chapter, and that helped a lot. In fact I think I learned more from the problems ... full review

"Five Stars" - by Jerry R. Hedrick
Great text book for those just delving into the world of finance.

"No Code Included" - by Sue Cotton (GARNER, NC, United States)
The Kindle Fire version of this textbook is generally easy to use and I am mostly happy with it. It is so much handier to have an EBook version than lugging around a bulky print book that it makes up for the few faults I have encountered. I wish it came with standard Kindle functionality but this is not the case. I have vision problems so the ability to re-size the font would be nice. You can expand/contract the image size with finger pinching movements but have to do so on each page, and having to scroll around the expanded page in order to see all of the text gets a bit old. On the plus side, you can make notes and bookmarks, and the text is searchable. I expect that if Amazon could have included Kindle functions, they would have.

I have one complaint that Amazon CAN address. The product ... full review

"Clear explanations and excellent examples!" - by Brick and Mortar Fan. (Commerce Twp, MI United States)
This text represents my first formal exposure to Accounting. I found the text easy to read with clear explanation, and a comprehensive selection of example problems that have been solved to illustrate key points. Given the extensive number of chapters and revisions, the text is "complete" and well refined.

My wish is that the text would have included answers to some of the extensive number of practice problems it provides.

"Simple and to the Point" - by Martha McKinney (Tennessee)
Accounting Basics help me understand accounting better than some of my accounting classes. Now I know and understand Debits and Credits and what accounts have debit balances and credit balances. I keep it in my desk draw as a cheat sheet for when I run into problems. It is clear and simple. Great stuff!!

"For those who fell asleep in Principles of Management class" - by Mark Calvelo
Simple and in layman's terms, as the book promises on the cover. It covers stuff with some examples and analogies to make things easier and sometimes more entertaining to learn and comprehend. I would recommend this book to those who are starting their own business.

"Best book you will find" - by Carlos D
Best book you will find. It will take you from knowing nothing at all to a complete capable person that is able to understand, analyse and make financial statements.

"Definite buy!!" - by DA LaMarr
This book is seriously so good. I've been in the accounting world for 10 years, I have my Accounting degree, and I am a Controller for a small regional company. I'm 13 pages into this book and I've thought several times already that this should be required reading in any entry-level accounting class in college. I bought this book because while I understand this stuff, I often feel like I missed some important, basic things during school and that missing those things has made the quite simple accounting world seem more difficult than it actually is. The way this author presents the information and explains definitions and methods makes me HAPPY. Thank you Mr. Ittelson!!

"Good overview" - by Mikey D
Text provides a good high level overview of the history of health care, how services are provided (and paid for) and more recent changes. The core accounting concepts are more of an afterthought as seems the text expects its audience to already be somewhat familiar with basic principles. Rather, it focuses on the regulatory history and changes, how it can financially impact health care providers, as well as some adopted best practices by these organizations. I would recommend to anyone looking for a comprehensive introduction to the subject. My only criticism is I was hoping the text was more up to date (seems to be material from 2012), but then again given the price I still think it's a good buy.

"AHA!! Finally, accounting made simple...FOR ME!" - by JBrrnz19
After avoiding Accounting courses in college, and dodging learning what I really need to know about it, I have finally stepped up by taking this course.
I knew, instinctively, if anyone could make it understandable and interesting for me, Chris Haroun could.
I have my own business, but am a creative marketing type... my eyes typically glaze over when it comes to accounting.
Right from the beginning, Chris made Balance Sheets and Cash Flow interesting and applicable to ME. Understanding came simpler by making the concept enjoyable and relevant to my unique business, which, in reality, is just like any other business.
This is tremendous for students at many levels, and the concepts get much deeper. Still, I was able to grasp the things I knew something about already much better while adding some new things, with some "Aha" moments sprinkled in because of the way Chris personalizes examples.
I actually enjoyed a ... full review
