I've always enjoyed watching Airwolf when it was shown on the USA Network everyday in the afternoons. That was until the original episodes quit being aired and the not so great fourth season episodes became the norm, and then the show no longer was on the air. I did eventually buy the first three seasons on DVD, which cost more than then I paid for this set. Season four came out, but I had no interest in buying it, and if you ask me with this set it's really just seasons 1-3 with season four being the extra feature. Airwolf is TV show a lot ike Knight Rider, and pretty much every episode is about the same, some situation arises, and Stringfellow Hawke flies Airwolf, a modified Bell 222 which kind of resembles a shark, in to complete the mission. I disagree with the other reviewer (Fred). I saw this only once over 25 years ago and have never forgotten it. Was it that good? Well, it apparently made an impression on my young mind. Add to that I've always liked Jan-Michael Vincent. Other favorites of mine with JMV during this time were "Tribes" and "Buster and Billie". If Jan-Michael Vincent seemed he'd rather be somewhere else in this movie it was probably because he was the only one that did not want any part of taking the ill-gotten money (at least intially). He was the only one with a conscience of right and wrong wanting to do the right thing. This movie really makes one think what one would do if in a similar situation. ( "Deliverance" with John Voight and Burt Reynolds was a similar scenario.) Overall I think this ... full review(11) -

To be fair, in 1962, I was a 7 year old grom riding my skimboard on the Linda Mar California beach while my cousins longboarded. No wetsuits then-pre Jack O'Neill. Milius did an excellent job capturing that era. Sam Melton aka The Bear reminded me of my Uncle Jack Blair. Gruff, fair and experienced in all things. Every town had a trio of surfers like Leroy, Jack and Matt in those days. Probably still true but I'm the old guy on a longboard now so I wouldn't know any personally. Any surfer over 45 can relate to this movie and if anybody younger than that wants to relate to older surfers like their Dads or Uncles, they should watch this movie. My only beef was that there were no Hawaiians in the movie, only haoles. There were Hawaiians surfing in SoCal in those days, passing on the Aloha. But, that's ... full review(176) -
