I'm very pleased with this purchase. I knew exactly what I was getting. The movies are all listed for us to read before purchasing. At 5 bucks, I'm suprised that anyone would complain! It's the Duke for goodness sakes! I'd give 5 bucks for a collection of commercials that he stared in!(202) -

Others are correct - the box packaging is poor in terms of you stick each DVD into tight cardboard pockets and I imagine this Beware the box sets packaging may scratch the DVDs. Plus, if not careful, the paper sleeves will likely rip over time. However, the cardboard packaging otherwise looks somewhat attractive. Here's the kicker though - the movies are fantastic. As others have noted, I've never seen Red River before but "Wow!" , it is one of the best movies I've ever seen old or new. So well written and directed and John Wayne especially Montgomery Clift do a superb job of acting. Many other movies are very entertaining too. This is a MUST buy.(87) -

I received three discs. One disc is Operation Pacific and another is They Were Expendable. The third disc is unmarked and my first impression was that I was sent a blank disk. I slipped the unmarked disc into the player and up came Flying Leathernecks. When we finished watching Flying Leathernecks I flipped the disc over and to my surprise it contained a black & white version of Back To Bataan. When we finished watching the movie I used a felt tip pen to label both sides.
We enjoy watching John Wayne in his various roles so even though these are not very high quality discs, and the unbelievable sloppiness of failure to label a disc, I am rating 5 stars for content. I am rating 3 stars for low product quality and lack of labeling for a net rating of 4 stars.(368) -

Purchased these for my 88 year old father who LOVES John Wayne. He was super pleased with this "set" and told me that they are four of his favorite movies! The product was received within 2 days of purchase and were packaged well and in good condition. We haven't watched them yet but I'm hoping from other reviews that I read that they will be in good shape. I will update after we get a chance to watch. Great gift idea for those John Wayne fans per Dad's enthusiasm!(305) -

Nice to find it on Amazon, Very good movie with action and adventure. Somewhat based, the fire scenes on the true Red Adair well fire events. You will like it.(680) -

Big Jake, an excellent John Wayne western movie - and produced by Wayne's own production company, Batjac - and has all the familiar elements we've come to expect from Wayne with a few wrinkles.
The film begins during the turn of the 20th century at Jacob McCandles' ranch where a gang of kidnappers take the young grandson of "Big Jake" and demand the payment of one million dollars in return for the boy's life. The gang flees to Mexico with the young boy after ambushing the party of Texas Rangers that have gone after them. Jake, played by Wayne, is estranged from his family, living in the part of the west that is still wild when news comes of the kidnapping. His wife has summoned him for the purpose of taking the ransom to the kidnappers and bringing the boy back. As you can imagine, the kidnappers picked on ... full review(614)
