My husband I have been using this toaster oven for over a year now on an almost daily basis for one thing or another, and I am extremely pleased with it. We've had quite a few toaster ovens in our lives, and there are several reasons that I really like this one over the others that we've had.
First, I like how the toaster and the oven part are separate. With our previous two units, we put the bread (toast) into the oven part and just put the setting onto "toast." With this Hamilton Beach unit, the toaster is totally separate...put the bread into the top slots and toast! We've found that the bread comes out exactly how we set it. We usually toast just plain bread, but we have put bagels in there too with no problems.

I almost never write reviews but I had to for this purchase. I'm one of those people who takes forever to make a purchase because I research the hell out of things before I commit. Absolutely LOVE this oven. I cook and bake everyday and this baby is heaven sent plus it looks amazing in my kitchen. The convection oven browns everything perfectly even, the burners bring water to a boil quickly and have even distribution, and the broiler heats quickly and once again, cooks evenly. Love the heavy duty grates and professional look. Easy to clean. Installation was a breeze and it sits flush against the wall. I've had it for about 6 months now and couldn't be happier.(28) -

I'm cooking and baking all the time, so there's not really a day that goes by where I don't need to use some oven mitts or a potholder to move, extract, shift, or otherwise handle some sort of thermally charged container or bakeware. Now, that's not to say that I'm constantly fighting 400F + temps or anything; I'm typically baking bread or mozzarella sticks for the kids, not firing pottery or cremating small animals. To all of this, the DII oven mitts here do absolutely fine and for that functionality I couldn't be happier.
That said, there are only two little criticisms I have that knock a star off for me: 1) As you can sort of tell in the picture, the loops at the wrist of each mitt are two different sizes. I'm guessing that this is supposed to assist in the way that the mitts rest against ... full review(2,856) -

These mats are wonderful oven liners. I spilled a cooking sheet of greasy liquid in my oven... and I was relieved to have the mat in place. They limited my cleanup time. In addition, they prevent little pieces of food from drying onto the bottom of the oven. They are much easier to use than aluminum foil. I have a gas oven and by placing them on the lowest rack they last for a long time. They are a breeze to clean. Everything wipes off. I am a stickler for a clean oven and these have met my expectations.(445) -

The house thermostat set on 70 degrees this thermometer reads 70 degrees. Heated oven to 400 degrees. Thermometer read 400 degrees.
This is great for proofing bread. I also use it to heat herbs in oil to make salves.
Sometimes I use the toaster-oven to bake small amounts and this thermometer works well there too.
All in all very pleased with purchase.

While it took them almost a month to deliver what was promised within 10 days, once we got this stove it was pretty much as advertised. I've never seen a pot of water boil so quickly, not even on a gas stove. The only two negatives so far are: 1) the controls are so sensitive that I accidently shut off a burning quite often. Hopefully I can train myself to avoid that; 2) The cook top is already showing imperfections. Despite being very careful not to let spills or splatters sit, it already doesn't look brand new, and yes I've been careful to use the cleaner and pad provided with the stove.(34) -

Good quality. The thickness helps keep all warmth of your hand, but it also makes it a little stiff. I have to use both when taking something out of the oven. I can't just grab something with one hand because this doesn't bend well enough for that. Nice color too, and fabric washes out well.(138) -

I have had my Back & Decker Stainless Steel Convection Oven for a little over a year now. It replaced another brand that quit functioning much too soon. This unit gets lots of use from plain old toast to baking pizza, cookies, breads, etc. Always get excellent results. The controls are easy to use (once you read the manual)but you must do that to operate correctly. I like the preset features as they save me time. You can easily change the times from the preset if you are cooking something much different.
I noticed that some people were concerned about the heat but it does not seem to get any hotter around it than other brands I have had. It is a known fact that you must leave room around any toaster oven large or small. My unit is stacked on top of my microwave with space on ... full review(1,561)
