This product is decent but seems a little.... cheap? It ran great for the first few hours and then developed quite a loud noise to it. I would venture to guess that the bearings in the fans might be shotty and they just broke down very quickly on the side that the noise is coming from. I probably would choose another product if I had to do it again. Maybe I just got a dud though.(3,024) -
"This is a very interesting way to cool your laptop" - By V. Doug Johnson (Northern California)
This is a very interesting way to cool your laptop. It fits easily on my larger laptop, just plug it in and adjust the 'suck' to meet your needs. The higher the setting the louder it is so you can usually just keep it on medium for most games. My laptop consistently heats up to 98 degrees C, which is really worrisome and with this it keeps around 82-88 which is right in the warm range, but not scary.
Kind of a techy version of the normal fan, so it has that cool-factor bonus.(74) -
"THE BEST!" - By D. Holmes (culloden, wv)
This is the first time I have been able to find a laptop cooling pad that actually keeps my laptop cool. My laptop used to overheat all the time. I tried 3 other laptops that at best would only keep the laptop mildly cool. Then I would still have to turn it off every so often to let it cool down. The 3 fans are bigger than any of the other cooling pads I tried plus being absolutely quiet. I can't tell it is even running. I am so glad I found this one & checked out the reviews.(855) -

I have gone through four different fan-type cooling lap desks in the past few years, all of them eventually failing due to the fans losing their power or getting clogged up with dust - or never really working to cool the laptop off in the firstplace. I spend at least 7 hours day using my laptop on my lap while my feet are up on a recliner (thanks to botched leg surgery) and need a lapdesk that is sturdy and large enough to hold my 17 inch laptop, while also keeping the computer from overheating. Before getting this my computer would typically overheat 3-4 times a week because the old lapdesk would block the computer fans and fail to produce enough power to draw heat away from the computer. This is so simple - just have to make sure I don't block the corner fan outlet - ... full review(601) -

Price: $5.49 "An incredible deal" - By P. Carpenter
I was THRILLED to see such a bargain price for Heatsink compound! Although the individual tubes are small, they are perfect for the home techie or even a class in computer assembly. The shipping was fast and I couldn't be happier with the product. The compound is white and thinner than the really viscous grey stuff I've used before. I actually like it better, as it seems to clean up easier if you get it on your hands. If it's still around when I need more (I bought 50 tubes), I'll buy it again!(36) -

I was getting a discolored mark on my upper legs from heat put out by my laptop. Using a pillow or blanket was bulky and annoying. It doesn't take all the heat away, but it just gets warm now - not hot enough to burn your skin. The price is great too.(76) -

I've been using the XPad for about two weeks and have to say that overall it does a pretty good job. I mostly use my laptop propped in my lap in bed,and the fans on my Dell don't go off nearly as often when I'm using the Xpad. I no longer feel the heat from my laptop burning into my skin, and I can't say I really miss it all that much. Furthermore, I pretty much leave it permanently on the Xpad even when I'm not using it, thus dispelling my previous irrational fear that my laptop would overheat and set my sheets on fire if I left it unattended. The fact that it runs without needing to plug in to a USB port and without noisy fans of any sort is a huge plus.
Some things to note: I own a Dell Inspiron 1505 with a 15.4' screen. ... full review(426) -
"I rented a good EMF meter (ELF and VLF) and tested it under ..." - By Demosthenes Pasadis (Glen Ellen, CA)
It seems to work.
I rented a good EMF meter (ELF and VLF) and tested it under my Macbook Pro laptop with and without the shield.
Readings were much lower with the shield.(137) -
"It's nice and light" - By Jasmine Johnson
It's nice and light...wish it had height adjustments but this height works well for me. Over all it's well constructed and very portable. Holds my macbook air securely enough and is certainly high enough to get the monitor to eye level.(3) -

I bought this for my MacBook Pro because the computer got so hot that it was uncomfortable to keep on my lap. The pad is light weight and I carry the pad and my Mac together as one unit. I have noticed that it has gotten so hot that when it cools back down, the gel gets a little "crunchy." However, when it is being used and starts absorbing a lot of heat, it gets soft and pliable again, so I take it that it's doing its job. We recently bought my husband an HP Pavilion and my husband was alarmed that the computer was so hot. I lent him my cooling pad and don't expect that I'll be receiving it back. I'm going online to buy myself a new one.(55) -

This little cooling pad is working great so far. I had such a tough time keeping my laptop from overheating. I was worried I would damage something and end up with costly repairs. So when I went looking for cooling pads and saw all the options I was a bit overwhelmed. Then I saw this one: low price, simple setup. How could I lose? If it stopped working like the other one I had I would only be out $14. So I got it and I can say I am very happy I did. It is a bit small for my 15" laptop but that does not matter as my laptop sits nicely right over the fan. I can rest the Belkin on my lap with no problems. It is quiet and keeps my laptop nice and cool. ... full review(164) -
"Slim, quiet, and nice looking." - By Leslie Kung
Works great. Runs very quietly! Coincidentally color matched to my HP 'dreamy teal' laptop. Easy to use. Slim.
The fan can slipped into my laptop sleeve along with the laptop (and a wallet and keyfob).(40)
