"Adrenaline rush on the water......." - By Kyle Tolle (Phoenix, Arizona USA)
To start out with, like other reviewers have stated, it is terrific to see this movie out on DVD after so long. I realized, when I watched this movie for the first time, you don't have to be a fan of boat racing to love this movie.
The cinematography just can't be beat with absolutely wonderful shots putting you dead center in the action. It's a great experience in how the filmmakers shoot you back and forth onto the boats and then create sweeping panoramic views of strategic boat maneuvers. Top notch sailboat racing, bar none.
The DVD is remastered in high definition and is crystal clear with superb detail and color. As for sound, Dolby 5.1 or DTS would have been the icing on the cake but I won't sell this DVD short. The Dolby Surround it does have still gets the job done just ... full review(304) -
"Truly Refreshing - A Pleasure To Watch!" - By Marcia White (NotQuiteMayberry, USA)
I was looking for a movie to watch that was enjoyable, had some charm to it and I found it in this film. I was previously unfamiliar with the acting of Michelle Laroque and she's obviously a very good actress as you see how Christine, the character she portrays, matures and blossoms once she slows down and gets some insight into her neighbor Jeff. Matthew Modine is a combination of funny, charming and somewhat eccentric in his role. I don't like to delve into plots very much when I write a review, as I don't like to spoil things for someone who hasn't seen the film yet. So, if you're looking for a cute romantic comedy that's a little different than most of them and will make you laugh and smile, you may find what you want in this movie!(36) -

"Memphis Belle Story" - By Louis J. Barbier (Largo, Florida)
The Memphis Belle is a fantastic story about a plane and its crew who flew 25 perilous missions before going home. It was a time of global conflict where daylight bombardment over fortress Europe in the effort to destroy Nazi Germany was one of the most hazardous jobs in the Army Air Corps. But it had to be done. In the movie we follow a crew of ten young men as they go about the task of flying and dropping their deadly payload of bombs on crucial targets located deep in the heart of Germany. These targets were munitions plants, ball-bearing factories, and all kinds weapons of mass destruction. The Americans flew during the day and our allies flew at night. It was a 24/7 undertaking based on good weather over the target area. But the cost was high but necessary to obtain supremacy of the skies over Europe. The ... full review(641)
