My 9 year old son is a huge fan of this series. He has waited for months for the book to arrive and within minutes of its arrival he was reading it. The new author does not disappoint! My son is already well into the book and cannot put it down. He loves the illustration! JJK is one of our favorite authors. We recommend reading any of his books, especially the Lunch Lady series and Platypus Police Squad.(108) -

In looking back, more of my childhood memories of the first "Star Wars" memory come from the comic book adaptation rather than the movie itself. I was only three years old the month that the movie was released, and, in pre-VCR households in the late '70s and early '80s, if I wanted to experience actual "Star Wars" on a daily basis, reading the comic book was the closest that I could ever get to the real thing.
It didn't help that I only had a compilation version of the second half of the movie -- issues #4 through #6 of the adaptation. For years, I knew the last 45 minutes of "Star Wars" much better than I did the beginning.
So I nearly jumped out of my seat when I saw that there was a hardback edition of the complete comic-book run, all 6 issues in ... full review(30) -

I am not a foodie, but I loved this book as well as its predecessor. Gladys is a bit new to the idea of having friends her own age, and I enjoyed and sympathized with her struggles to be a good friend, especially while having to bend the truth to keep doing what she loves. I felt like Gladys learned a lot about not jumping to conclusions about other people in this book, and I am hoping she continues to improve her relationship with her parents in the next book.
This book was well written and kept me turning the pages!(48) -

This book does a great job of filling in the gaps of "A New Hope." That is is from Leia's POV only makes it better. Nicely tying in the comics and other backstory sources with the original move, it's a great read even for us adults.(71) -

This is the first truly child friendly adaptation of the "Revenge of the Sith." The scene in the movie where Anakin falls into the lava is transformed into a completely innocent and funny scene where Anakin's pants catch on fire and Darth Sidious has to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher. My son (who is almost 4) is fascinated with "Revenge of the Sith", mainly because I refuse to let him watch the movie until he is the appropriate age. This book gives him a good sense of what happens in the movie without all the scary bits. I highly recommend it!(2) -

I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review. When I saw this book, I literally did a happy dance. I have been waiting for it none too patiently, and I have to say the wait was sooooo worth it. This fourth installment in the Random series has bad boy sex god of the band, Liam, running into his ex-girlfriend Charlotte, the only girl to ever break his heart. Julia Kent gives us a front row seat for all the fireworks that ensue as this couple precariously tries to navigate their way back to each other. The characters in this series are so well-rounded and real that you can’t help but become totally invested in their lives. books are great and pictures are as well the only issue is that the reading levels are not comparable to AR levels so even though i purchased a step 1 this is more for an advanced reader. i purchased this item for a beginner and he was not able to read it so pls beware of the levels are higher than indicated.(94)
