Ignite the Fire is the missing piece for most personal trainers. It encompasses everything from how to get, retain, and grow your business. Most trainers are highly skilled in their craft and constantly are trying to learn the best ways to program, squat, bench, whatever. But this is the hidden gym. The author writes well and keeps you engaged so you forget you're learning and just have fun with the material. I recommend to all my fellow coaches be it in Crossfit, Powerlifting, General Fitness or other sports. 5/5 STARS!(452) -
"The Science of Getting and Staying Fit" - By Mav
Being a fitness enthusiast myself, i find the concepts in this book resounding. Although they may hit you as somewhat commonsense, you may or may not have realize it enough to put into context of your workout.
I particularly liked the story of the two brothers stating the importance of compounded interest, for me, it is delayed gratification over instant. You may take in lots of protein powder to bulk up within the shortest period of time, but that may be detrimental to you if you cannot keep up the workouts.
Excellent , concise and short read!(51) -

I knew someone who was studying to become a personal trainer, and that the book she was reading was fairly lengthy, and possibly a little difficult for her to understand--thus, I got her this book so she might be able to "cheat time" a little. She did say that it was helpful...(57) -

"Fitness Invaluable" - By Mike T
For me, there is something fascinating about ultra-endurance athletes. The desire to push body and mind to beyond it's perceived limits is inspiring, especially in modern times where convenience is king. I started my own journey to ultra-marathons in June 2012 and sought out as much information as I could find to help me train physically and mentally. One of the first podcasts I listened to was by Rich Roll, and in one of the early episodes his guest was a personal trainer and ultra-distance cyclist called Vinnie Tortorich. I'd never heard of the guy before, but in the 9 or so months I've had Vinnie in my life he's had a big effect on my health and fitness, and given me plenty of laughs.
If you listen to the podcast then you'll know Vinnie's style, and you'll probably have his voice in your head ... full review(1,419) -
"Very helpful, good actionable tips!" - By Laurie (Evans, GA)
This is a great starting point if you are a personal trainer trying to get started online. There are a lot of great nuggets in this book, definitely worth a read. There are a few pitches for his coaching service (which is to be expected) but it's still a great resource.(6) -

The book was purchased for my son who was taking a distance-learning class to fulfill a P.E. requirement for high school. The copy was clean and tight and in very good condition. Delivery was not fast, but timely.
Not a lot to say. Typical p.c. jock-info. Would recommend for quality and service but not content. In other words, it was a have-to purchase, not a want-to.(7)
