"Unrealistic in My world but Worth the Pourchase" - by Michael Smith
I'm giving this book a five because content wise it's everything I wanted to know and more. One of the more difficult tasks in the design world is pricing your services accordingly. What this book offers is a starting point, whether your market demands lower prices or your lucky enough to be in a market and have clientele that is willing to pay the published recommended prices, either way you have a place to start. I don't have any clients willing to pay $2k+ for a logo, which is a shame but now I know understand my place in the market. Great book for every designer!

Good book. Only covers the very basics. You won't be a print design expert after reading it.

"Exactly what the creative professional needs to read" - by Seumus Maley
A fantastic book for the creative professional, and I don't just say that because I just finished voicing the audiobook version, but as a creative professional, I found this book to be insightful, funny, informative, and ultimately extremely helpful. Sometimes creative professionals just wind up in their own little creative world, and don't even think of themselves as professionals or as having careers. Synchronicity works in mysterious ways, and I don't think I could have asked for a better book to read for my first audiobook, or for a better author to work with than Mitch Dowell. Thanks so much Mitch and I look forward to taking the advice you gave in this book and using it to make 2017 an awesome year.

"Everything You Need to Know about the Business of Design" - by Corwin Hiebert (Vancouver, Canada)
Never in my life have I read a book twice… but wouldn’t you know it, Shel Perkins’ revised and expanded third edition of Talent Is Not Enough is the book that broke my hard-and-fast rule. I didn’t see that coming—I would have guessed that C.S. Lewis or J.R.R. Tolkien would eventually gain that honour.

Perkins lifts the hood on the business of design better than anyone. This is by far the best business book out there for designers looking to develop a sophisticated independent business or studio. In fact, I highly recommend it to anyone looking to establish sound business practices within any creative service-based industry.

My only criticism of the book is that the layout is very dense and thus the book is dry at times. I’m not saying it should have pop-ups, colour pages, or scratch-n-sniffs, but the rigid textbook format will slow down right-brained readers.

"A fantastic book for any motion designer!" - by Sam Jones
This is the arguably the best book to come out on the ever growing field of motion design. It focuses not only on the design process but also on the importance of having strong concepts in your work through a better understanding of how to come up with ideas and shape them in to beautiful design boards. The book also contains interviews with some top professionals in the industry, such as GMUNK, Patrick Clair (creator of the title for True Detective), Lindsay Daniels (designer of Dexter titles), Erin Sarofsky (creator of titles for Captain America), and many more.

This book isn't a tutorial on how to actually make the frames in programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or Cinema 4D, as there are an abundance of places to go for this online, but if used correctly it offers the reader a kickstart in to improving their portfolio through a better ... full review

"Design Graphics is a must-have" - by Kimberly J. Ferrante (Detroit, Mi)
I had Peter Koenig as an instructor at Florida State University where he taught these terrific tools of the trade. I didn't realize how valuable they would be until I, myself, became a designer in the field. I will be teaching an Interior Design course on sketching this term and will be using the knowledge from this textbook to help my own students to perfect their ability to communicate their ideas to their clients. I have the first edition but would like to see the sencond as well. Thanks Professor Koenig!

"A good book for beginners" - by Subarna Ghoshal (India)
I just went through the book, the most important part i liked is its language which is very welcoming for a beginner. I know lots of graphic softwares very well, but unware of some basic designing fundamentals. This book showed me the way. Though the samples in the book is few and not very interesting but has lots of basic information written in compact form so that a beginner can refer back any time. The book is broken down into basic topics a designer should know and its related subtopics. I liked its exercises at end of each chapter. May not be interesting to a person who is already a professional, but its a very handy book for anybody who want to become a designer with limited knowledge about it. I think one should go through it before trying out very hi-end designing books.
