"this is an excellent primer for anyone considering a career in real estate ..." - by Randy Mondello
At first blush, this is an excellent primer for anyone considering a career in real estate development. On second glance, anyone with a career in business would garner value from the author’s experience-born wisdom, keen insight, and fundamental honesty into the intricacies of commercial real estate. What shines through each page is Mr. McNellis’ integrity and genuine love of his craft. Clearly this book was intended to grow the future leaders of his industry, and to ensure those leaders are competent, ethical, and responsible to the society they serve. I enjoyed this read immensely and recommend it highly.

"How to guide to buying and selling real estate." - by C Rogue (California)
I gave it a five star because I like how the books breaks down into steps. And the end of each chapter, it gives you a summary of what you need to do. I also like the formulas to find out the cap rate, Property value, etc.

"This dictionary is great for anyone who is currently a real estate agent ..." - by GingyJAC
This dictionary is great for anyone who is currently a real estate agent and those desiring to become an agent. It does have some terms missing that should be added. Worth buying.

"Good content, useful data, too short to be a book, more of a manual." - by Xavier Atlas (Mexico)
The book's content is concise and very fine. As a developer and investor with over 3 million square feet of built projects, I found it very accurate and I'm sure I will be going back to it when new deals come. Mr. Hennessey's "manual" is just too short to be called a book.

"Real Estate for Beginners" - by K & J
Brian Murray's text Crushing It in Apartments and Commercial Real Estate is a great read for a fellow teacher who would love a little bit more income to help deal with some expenses, as well as to help pad my wallet a little bit. As a teacher I don’t have a lot of extra money which was the entire draw of purchasing Murray’s book, especially when I saw that Murray himself was a former teacher. It was really nice to read through the book because I know next to nothing about real estate and never would have considered investing in apartments or even commercial real estate. So this book was great as both an eye opener and some good ideas for a beginner.

The best, and strongest, part of his book was that a lot of the advice he offers doesn’t require someone to be independently wealthy but suggests numerous ways ... full review

"Excellent!" - by MV
Every real estate investor and/or agent should read this book. Even the most seasoned veteran of real estate transactions will gain something useful. There was way more great info in this book than I expected. I'll be referring back to this book often.

"Light on specifics" - by Sophic (Dallas, TX)
More of a general overview than an actual "how-to" manual, but for the price I didn't expect much. If you just want an understanding of how to start, the book does a reasonable job of laying out the pros and cons of real estate investing.

"Easy Reading" - by Basik
It's a school text book, so there's nothing really to rate it on. I will say that this book is very easy to read and comprehend, and it is very easy to find the answers you're looking for.

"good overview" - by William Jencks (San Diego, CA USA)
Good overview of development finance and equity requirements. Realistic view and good advice for anyone in the real estate development/investment industry. Uncommonly accurate in this genre.

"No Filler" - by El Monte
I'm giving this book four stars because it was realistic. Anyone who know's anything about Brandon Turner knows that he doesn't add filler or mix words. Although much of this information I already knew, I still found something that I hadn't come across before, the Master Lease Option(MLO). Being someone who wants to get into big apartment buildings, the MLO gave me a new tool to use on my path toward completing my goals. Also, being a veteran of the armed forces, after I was done reading the advance copy that I received in PDF format, I went out and bought a fourplex with my VA backed mortgage loan. Why did I not give it five stars? I'm real big on in depth case studies and I didn't see much of that in there. Otherwise, I recommend this excellent piece of work by the #2 guy at Biggerpockets.com .

"Outtanding learning tool." - by Sue
What a great overall presentation of the many facets of real estate development. Not everyone has the talent to explain a very complex subject in understandable terms, but Mr. Wehrmeryer does so beautifully. It's written with a good balance of detail and generality. I work for a developer and this will be my go-to guide from now on.

"An informative, time-tested book - definitely recommended!" - by TomHunter1968 (Newport Beach, CA)
I bought this book, along with two others, after some careful research into real estate investing books on Amazon (customer ratings, reviews, etc.). These were part of a Christmas present several years ago to my younger brother who is working hard - very hard, actually - to break into the real estate investment world. I wanted to report back that he found this book informative and insighful and still refers to them today from time to time. I had been over at his house this weekend, and he actually mentioned the presents, and told me that he actually found some useful info in this book, and that it wasn't just another get-rich-quick or uninformed hack job, both of which are so prevalent in real estate literature (and have been for years, as you probably know). So, I can say that I definitely recommend this book to anyone - especially someone ... full review
