"Ring On!" - by TechConsultant
During my extensive research for a cost-effective security solution in 2017 I compared various offerings from different vendors. The Ring was one of the 3 that made my list.Once Ring ceased sales because of a lawsuit, I decided to wait instead of deciding on the other 2 home security solutions because Ring was the cheaper of the 3. I waited and pre-ordered soon as I got the long awaited email and I'm glad I did because it is worth it! The setup up was simple and I was up and running within minutes. Placing the sensors is key and the provided adhesives make the installation quick, if you do not want to use the mounting screws. The modes are helpful (Unarmed, Home and Away). Even if your system is on the 'Unarmed' mode, you still continue to receive alerts in the Ring App on activity from the Motion and ... full review

"Siren that integrates well with IFTTT (Arlo)" - by Vincent Gatdula
Buy a bunch and put them all over your house! This siren isn't weatherproof, but you can put it next to an open window (on the 2nd floor) and have it pointed at the street. You can also use it as a door chime so that you know when somebody is opening one of your doors.

IFTTT Integration - This siren works wonders with Arlo cameras. You can set a recipe so that the sirens go off when your Arlo cameras detect motion!

If you accidentally set off the alarm, I recommend buying several remote tags and hiding them around the house. You can also use the remotes as a quick "panic button" for a greater sense of security in your home.

Below is a video of me setting off the alarm on accident. It responds fairly quickly depending on your internet connection.

"Inexpensive alarm system" - by Mary B (Raleighwood)
The system arrived in just 1 day even though we used 2 day PRIME, a nice surprise. System is preset and very easy to install.
I have had two sensors fall from doors because double stick tape did not hold but I reinstalled them and they have held. The instruction book is not too detailed but there are videos posted at their website that help. So far I have it call may cell in case of an alarm and I have not set outside siren yet just to ensure "false" alarms don't scare neighbors but there been no 'false" alarms .
I feel this is an inexpensive way to go if you don't want monitored name brand alarm systems. This along with yard signs and window stickers (sold on Amazon) may be enough to deter small time crooks.
I will try to update this later.

"Love this security system!" - by Nikiwiki (Illinois)
This is my first security system and I love it! I was nervous about setting it up but after watching the videos and playing around with the app I got the hang of it pretty quick. Actually the whole process was kinda fun, creating “zones”, naming each sensor and setting up the motion detectors I felt like I was creating my own little fortress! I have tested all the sensors since and they have all worked perfectly, setting off the siren and sending an alert to my phone. I really like the cameras too, they connected in same app as the alarm and the picture is nice and clear even at night. Right now I have one in the living room facing the front door and I’m still deciding where to place the other one. Anyway, I can definitely recommend this system, it was ... full review

"Blink XT was excellent!" - by Jtel87 (Midwest , USA)
I owned both Arlo Pro and Blink XT. Depending on your needs, I would highly recommend Blink XT
Pros
(a) Intermittent internet due to power outages. The Blink would recover and immediately syn-up with the base station rather quickly. For Arlo Pro, it would some time be a trial-and-error process requiring multiple reset to the base station or even the router/modem.
(b) Blink had almost flat in construction and has a very small foot print. That would mean you could install the Blink practically almost every wear.
(c) The Blink's two 'AA' size battery life was far superior to that Arlo Pro's rechargeable batteries. Depending on the level of trigger detection around your house, Arlo Pro rechargeable battery's life typical ranged from short 3 weeks to slightly more than a month for outside installation. Batteries life worsen in cold weather.
(d) Blink was far more cost-effective and cheaper than Arlo Pro. Arlo Pro was just ... full review

"Great for use on mobile networks" - by Alan P. (Somewhere in California)
Update: Today the Sens8 caught a Thief! I had a break in at a vacant property, the video I've attached is real.

Lets face it, this thing is ugly. They went for a futuristic look and ended up with some kind of Pepper mill VS. Pepper sprayer thing. It may not be much for form but it's got function. I'm using this at a remote location with no internet. It's running off a cellular hot spot. I've tried this with other cameras only to fail after disconnecting from the network . This one works. I can run it off a mobile hot spot and connect to it with no routing issues.

"Arlo Pro vs. Nest vs. Smartcam" - by M L (USA)
I'm a longtime Dropcam/Nest and Samsung Smartcam user. I had some locations outside far from power outlets where I wanted surveillance, purchased and Arlo Pro system for this coverage. I have to say, after a few weeks of use I prefer the Arlo Pro to my Nest and Samsung camera systems. The image quality is slightly poorer, but the functionality is easier, there is free cloud recording, the app interface is cleaner, and the wireless feature means I can place these in spots the others can't go.

** Ease of Use **
Nest: 9.0/10. Works out of the box, recent app update lets you scroll through video feed in time-lapse fashion. It's like the Apple-version of camera systems, even your grandparents can set it up and use it.
Samsung: 7.5/10. If Nest is the Apple version, Samsung is the Android. It's a little bit better of a camera, but it's not ... full review

"and you are able to monitor and access the alarm from the internet on your smart phone from anywhere- this is it" - by Peter D. (Iowa)
All right all right all right- I have had this system installed on a neighbor's 3500 sq. ft. house now for 3 months. At first I wasn't sure how well it would work with kids all over the place and all, but so far the system has worked flawlessly.
If you are looking for a self monitored alarm system where nobody but you knows about a alarm and that there are NO monthly fees, and you are able to monitor and access the alarm from the internet on your smart phone from anywhere- this is it!
Yes, there are some little quirks to the system, but it does what you want it to do. Guard your house when you push arm and have it let you know if someone is breaking in or violating a zone.
It has a ton of customizations that can be done to it ... full review

"This is an excellent system, but you have to research the system to know what you are buying" - by William Currie Jr
This item works as advertized! I installed it myself in about a week working on it about 3-4 hours a day. (with 21 sensors, not all included) Doing it this way I am more familiar with the system. The instructions are a little vague, but youtube helped a great deal. I would recommend researching all the sensors available for the system to see what fits your application better, rather than just ordering them. Sensors can be added after system installation very easily. I would highly recommend researching this item to see how complex it is before buying it. Not doing so may leave you dissatisfied. If you do not have technical knowledge needed to install this item (instructions available on-line, read them before you buy it) you will need the assistance of an installer. Programming can be done by the homeowner, ... full review

"Amazing security and Z-wave controller solution!" - by Amazon Customer
Just upgraded my Go!Control panel with the GC3 and WOW! The intuitive menus make programming so simple that I had mine fully installed and programmed with my existing devices in under 30 minutes. Z-wave devices learn in instantly. The capacitive touchscreen is high quality - no mistaps as were common with my Go!Control panel. I am so impressed with the improvements 2gig has made with this new panel!

This is a high-end security system anyone can install. Take note that you will need 20 or 22 gauge wire to connect the panel to the included transformer. Also, if you want to control the panel and your z-wave devices via smartphone/web you will need to purchase the cellular module for the GC3 and maintain an Alarm.com subscription. You can of course connect the system to a monitoring station if you wish.

I recommend GC3 to anyone looking for a high-end security system and ... full review

"Product is GREAT, you have control over your system" - by M. C. Smith (Goodlettsville, TN)
This is a great product. We feel safer knowing that we have control over our own protection in our home. Once you set it up, you can use your remote control or your phone (I have an iphone). We like using our phone to see through our cameras and to arm it. We use the stay mode at night and that is another way to feel safe. You do plug the cameras in. There are batteries provided (I think AAA batteries so easy to replace) for the door sensors. You MUST have internet access and the modem you receive for the system has to be connected to the internet (to your personal modem on the back) in order for the cameras to work and to record. The downfall to it is if your wifi goes out you have no control over your system, but I will tell you that it ... full review

"Good, inexpensive system!" - by keeper5759
I have only had the system installed for about 48 hours, but have been very please with it's functionality and ease of set up. The system cam with the hub, 2 door sensors, 2 motion detector, camera and key fob. The instructions for the hub were very simple and concise. To make life so much easier, set the hub and all accessories up from the app, which I used iOS. Be sure to write down your passwords for the hub and the app for future reference. Next were the 2 motion sensors. They are sensitive, so think about where you want them, especially if you have pets. My original location for one of the sensors was about 25 feet from my couch and it triggered whenever I or my dog sat on the couch. Moved it to another location, problem solved and ... full review

"In Love With This System" - by Phoenix (USA)
I am in love with this system. It was so easy to set up. Literally took less than 30 minutes to get everything set up and installed. We upgraded to the $24.99 a month live monitoring, but a $14.95 live monitoring is also available or you can opt to not use live monitoring. For our needs, we preferred the $24.99 monitoring so that's what we went with, but it's far from being a requirement. The hub has a battery backup option and a cellular backup, so if someone were to try to break in when the power goes out or were to cut your lines you'd still be secured for up to 24 hours. We have a very large 5 bedroom home and the hub has no problem reaching all areas of the home even though we put it by the front door. It still reaches the opposite end and ... full review

"Very good" - by Kemi
This system gives me a peace of mind. The directions are easy to follow if you just take your time and go step by step. The systems motion detectors and door sensors work so good because the one I bought before this one, that was supposedly credible, doesnt Work as good as this system does.

"Outstanding unit for the price" - by AmazonCustomer
I bought this security system after a friend's house was burglarized. The system was simple to install and is simple to use. So far everything is working great. Tech support is outstanding. If the unit turns out to be durable, I'll be thrilled.
