"I was looking for a low cost solution for some room re-verb!" - by GeekOut
I was looking for a low cost solution for some room re-verb in my voice only studio and found these acoustic panels. At only one inch thick i new they would only be good for mid and high tones only, this was fine for a voice recording only studio ! I also did not want to glue them to my wall, like many others do, only to find out i destroyed my walls should a time come when i had to remove them. So, i decided to frame them along with a sound absorbing ceiling tile for backing and hang them around my studio like picture frames. Now i can move them anywhere i want to at any time and not destroy my walls. Over all, these acoustic panels worked very well for my application and work fantastic for a quality voice recording!

"Great product, works well if you can't soundproof a room wall to wall." - by Michael Hornaday
Great product, I use it on a desk in a room with some basic soundproofing, I'm getting fantastic recording quality, with audio that only needs to be tweaked, as opposed to heavily filtered and edited with noise reduction.

It's easy to move to other locations as well.

I don't think I'll ever use the mic holder it came with, as it needs constant tightening, and with a mic that weighs a few pounds it's a little wobbly. So I recommend a separate stand.

"Absorbs noise of noisy new refrigerator well" - by Solarbird (Seattle, WA)
Our house has an annoyingly-sized refrigerator nook and so our selection of refrigerators is very limited. The one we ended up buying was quite a bit noisier than the previous model (no longer made) so I listened carefully to where the compressor noise escaped the nook - mostly through the gap between the top of the fridge and the overhead cabinet. Fortunately, there was plenty of room for airflow regardless, so I covered the underside of the cabinet with the .36" tile, and used the leftover on the wall behind the compressor, where the noise originates. (There's still adequate space for ventilation - the nook has a chimney vent in back.)

Result was absolutely brilliant. My housemates knew what I was up to and one of them came in when I was done and asked, "...is it on?" And it was. If the clothes dryer (down the hall) hadn't _also_ been ... full review

"Perfect! Plus I found an easier way to install it!" - by Thoroughview
I bought this acoustic foam to improve my recording quality. I was recording a considerable echo in my audio because of the way the room is. I originally used it to line a storage box ([[ASIN:B00ODTXTUM LOHAS Home Closet Fabric Drawer,Foldable Fabric Baskets,Storage Bins (Natural)]]) and create a low cost "recording booth" for my microphone (See Images).

I then upgraded my set-up with a new boom arm ([[ASIN:B00DY1F2CS NEEWER Microphone Suspension Boom Scissor Arm Stand]]) to free up space on my desk. This then left me with having to find a way to install the foam around my new microphone location. I looked into buying the spray glue, but have heard that certain types don't always work. Plus I didn't feel like putting up with the smell for a few days. Not wanting to risk ruining the foam, I decided to try stapling the foam to an extra piece of drywall ... full review

"Excellent acoustic foam!" - by Tammi
Bought this to absorb sound at my radio station. The result was immediate and effective. Great for absorbing high frequencies and countering hollowness and echoes. Don't expect sound proofing from this. That's not what it is for and will not work for that purpose. Incredibly affordable. Very pleased with this purchase.

"Pretty good; not true sound proofing but does dampen sound" - by Aaron Shaver (Portland, OR)
Although I'm sure these are meant for recording studios, I am using 36 of them (3 packs of 12) to control outside noise on one wall in my detached house. I put them up with "Scotch Permanent Mounting Tape, 1 Inch".

As anyone who's lived an an apartment near noisy neighbors knows, cheap foam sound panels give you exactly what you pay for: not much. They do nothing for outside noise, at best reducing interior echoes a bit. These fiberglass panels are noticeably denser (and more expensive) than foam, claiming an NRC value of 0.85. ***These WILL NOT soundproof your residence.*** That said, they do have an effect. I put a Bluetooth speaker on the other side of my wall, playing bass-heavy music. With my ear up to the wall versus a panel between the wall and my ear, I could notice a real dampening effect. With the neighbor noise I'm ... full review

"Great bargain, not uniform but they'll do. This is NOT for eliminating all sound." - by Kalm Traveler
First - you need to understand what the purpose of these panels is. Many of the negative reviews state that it didn't make things quiet enough etc, and of course not because it isn't designed to. These foam panels are designed to reduce higher-frequency reflected sound (like echos) which makes listening to speakers or recording on a mic much clearer.

To that end, they work great. I installed these yesterday in my home theater room and they did exactly what I wanted - eliminated first reflections off my walls and ceiling from the forward 5 speakers. Dialogue and sound effects in movies are much more crisp and clear now, in addition to surround effects being clearer, sharper, and easier to localize since I'm not hearing a reflected sound on the wrong side slightly after the original speaker sound hits me.

As others mention, the foam quality is great, but whoever cuts these ... full review

"Mismatch in charcoal - resolved immediately by seller, great customer service" - by BeerSultan (United States)
I bought 2 sets of these as a start to a computer gaming corner in my basement man-cave room. I attached them to 2 2'x4' hardboard sheets using 3M adhesive, and then drywall screwed them onto the walls - they're movable and gave the ability to set it up before mounting.

I ordered a second set, as I was planning on putting up two more 2'x4' boards across a middle/long wall - and I used 16 out of the 24, but needed another 16(so was short 8). The extra squares didn't matter much, I'd find some use. Problem was, once I got the second set the color was off - the charcoal's were considerably lighter and had less "sparkle"...which would be a significant concern for me as I didn't have enough "new" charcoal nor of the the "old" charcoal color to complete the full two panels I wanted.

"Perfect for the price" - by P. B. Jones (Wyoming, USA)
I placed two orders. First a small order to see how I liked the panels. They only sent 1/2 the amount of mounting clips that I needed for the job. I left a message, as no one answered the phone. They immediately called me back. Sent out the needed clips, plus additional clips that I had asked for. They did not charge me for the additional clips or for the priority mail to get them to me. Well done.

I placed my second, much larger order. They arrived on a pallet in perfect condition.

Mounting- they use a very simple impaling clip. I was not sure about them. But after installing 60 panels I learned to really appreciate the simplicity and speed of installation. They are firmly attached to the wall. No need for me to worry over them coming down.

Effectiveness- ... full review

Very happy with my purchase. I will purchase more depending on what I need. So far I ordered 4 12packs and have installed 3. Highly recommended for a home recording studio. You can't beat this for the price!
