"Silence is golden" - by Don Young
I installed the material to existing walls in an office bathroom, installed lath, and then sheet rocked over the lath. This is heavy material and it was difficult to tack to the walls by myself; however, it does a great job of eliminating noise to the adjacent rooms. Excellent material.

"I was looking for a low cost solution for some room re-verb!" - by GeekOut
I was looking for a low cost solution for some room re-verb in my voice only studio and found these acoustic panels. At only one inch thick i new they would only be good for mid and high tones only, this was fine for a voice recording only studio ! I also did not want to glue them to my wall, like many others do, only to find out i destroyed my walls should a time come when i had to remove them. So, i decided to frame them along with a sound absorbing ceiling tile for backing and hang them around my studio like picture frames. Now i can move them anywhere i want to at any time and not destroy my walls. Over all, these acoustic panels worked very well for my application and work fantastic for a quality voice recording!

"Remember to leave time to expand" - by AmazonJen
We ordered 92 of these and made our basement really soundproof for rehearsing. It's amazing how much better it sounds and how quiet it is outside the house now. We won't be bothering the neighbors with rehearsal anymore!

"Great bargain, not uniform but they'll do. This is NOT for eliminating all sound." - by Kalm Traveler
First - you need to understand what the purpose of these panels is. Many of the negative reviews state that it didn't make things quiet enough etc, and of course not because it isn't designed to. These foam panels are designed to reduce higher-frequency reflected sound (like echos) which makes listening to speakers or recording on a mic much clearer.

To that end, they work great. I installed these yesterday in my home theater room and they did exactly what I wanted - eliminated first reflections off my walls and ceiling from the forward 5 speakers. Dialogue and sound effects in movies are much more crisp and clear now, in addition to surround effects being clearer, sharper, and easier to localize since I'm not hearing a reflected sound on the wrong side slightly after the original speaker sound hits me.

As others mention, the foam quality is great, but whoever cuts these ... full review

"Perfect! Plus I found an easier way to install it!" - by Thoroughview
I bought this acoustic foam to improve my recording quality. I was recording a considerable echo in my audio because of the way the room is. I originally used it to line a storage box ([[ASIN:B00ODTXTUM LOHAS Home Closet Fabric Drawer,Foldable Fabric Baskets,Storage Bins (Natural)]]) and create a low cost "recording booth" for my microphone (See Images).

I then upgraded my set-up with a new boom arm ([[ASIN:B00DY1F2CS NEEWER Microphone Suspension Boom Scissor Arm Stand]]) to free up space on my desk. This then left me with having to find a way to install the foam around my new microphone location. I looked into buying the spray glue, but have heard that certain types don't always work. Plus I didn't feel like putting up with the smell for a few days. Not wanting to risk ruining the foam, I decided to try stapling the foam to an extra piece of drywall ... full review

"Not as expensive as it looks" - by WLK
This may look expensive at first but these tubes are 3 time bigger that the smaller tubes of caulk you can get (that I was going to buy instead due to cost) and designed to be noise dampener. Caulk is not but will dampen a little compared to this product. If I remember correctly, it was a dollar more, per volume, to get these tubes over the 3 tubes of caulk and I think there was an extra ounce with the 3 tubes of caulk vs these tubes. You will need a larger gun to dispense these tubes. This enough for 2 - 8' x 14' walls, If you attaching multiple sheets face to face.

"Great Panels at a Great Price!" - by John Locke (California)
Great product! I was really impressed by the reviews on here and even more impressed when I got the panels. The packaging was superb and each panel was wrapped in plastic. After opening them up you can really tell that these are quality panels, of course you could spend a ton more on panels, but these are quality nonetheless. I have purchased four so far and put two up on the back wall of my room and two on the sides near the back wall. If you stand in that area you can immediately hear a huge difference based on the other side of the room. Mounting the panels was pretty simple, however the paper template that comes with the panels needs to be trimmed down to the size of the panels. To mount them you put the template on the wall and mark the holes and do the same ... full review

"Would order again. Work well" - by AllisonB-LA
As described and they work quite well, surprisingly. I wasn't sure what to expect. These are for my husbands man cave where the tv and guitar playing can get a little loud and the echo was bothersome.

"Stops vibrational frequencies but also (to a degree) blocks sound" - by Amazon Customer
I have ordered 6 of these for my music studio and quite honestly they are better than expected. Cut perfectly. Block the frequency ranges its mafe to block but also does a good job on insulating the room, allowing less sound to escape. They are super easy to cut also if you want to use a panel for smaller pieces. Good stuff.

"Pleased with how it works" - by C. L. Kehoe (Boston, MA)
I needed something to thicken the density of an old door that someone had replaced glass panels with plywood. Also needed to soundproof an interior transom window to keep sounds from my rental unit from my main home. This seems to have worked very well for both purposes. Warning! It is extremely hard to cut so make sure you have something that will work.

"Absorbs noise of noisy new refrigerator well" - by Solarbird (Seattle, WA)
Our house has an annoyingly-sized refrigerator nook and so our selection of refrigerators is very limited. The one we ended up buying was quite a bit noisier than the previous model (no longer made) so I listened carefully to where the compressor noise escaped the nook - mostly through the gap between the top of the fridge and the overhead cabinet. Fortunately, there was plenty of room for airflow regardless, so I covered the underside of the cabinet with the .36" tile, and used the leftover on the wall behind the compressor, where the noise originates. (There's still adequate space for ventilation - the nook has a chimney vent in back.)

Result was absolutely brilliant. My housemates knew what I was up to and one of them came in when I was done and asked, "...is it on?" And it was. If the clothes dryer (down the hall) hadn't _also_ been ... full review
