"It is great for ages 7 - 150" - By hawkjamazon
I had long forgotten this game from my youth until one day it showed up in one of my searches. It is a very basic game. No batteries. All plastic. It has very tiny pieces so buyer beware if you have small children in your home.
It was an instant success with my children. It uses a part of the brain they aren't use to using when they are on their XBOX.
    It is for two players.
It is great for ages 7 - 150. It is portable. You could take it with you in the car, but be careful with the pieces on bumpy car rides.
    Great for grandma's house too.

"Our Whole Family Loves This Game! AND, We added some nice twists to keep it interesting!" - By Amazon Customer (Athens, GA)
First off, this game is just fantastic. My wife and I love playing it, and our three kids (ages 4-8) love playing with us. Our two oldest ones will play it without us, which is great. The basic rules are very easy to learn, and the game is always engaging.

We did add a couple of elements to spice it up because after a while certain family members would take forever deciding what move to make in the maze. So we added two elements and I'm putting them up here for you in case you like that kind of thing:

    1. When we play with adults, there is a 60 second timer for every turn. If you can't make your move in a minute, you lose your turn and return to your starting tile. It gives you just enough time to think, but it definitely adds some intensity ... full review

"Great starter game for kids" - By MamaGreen
Great starter game for kids, but we ended up buying the adult version because this was too easy for my 6 and 8 year old. The kid version is a pattern of 3 and the adult version is a pattern of 4.

Maybe it's because I started writing this review during the final few weeks of the TV series, LOST... but the whole "island full of crumbling ruins & ancient secrets" vibe resonates pretty strongly with me right now.

But don't take my (admittedly gamer-oriented) word for it: listen to my (gamer-in-training) 8 year old son... or his non-gamer 8 year old friends... or my long-suffering wife (who games because she loves me!)... or even other actual gamers who've played the game. It's been a hit with everyone who has had the opportunity to play!

Forbidden Island is a cooperative game for 2-4 players, though since the game is played with open hands, it works just fine as a solitaire game as well, with the player controlling two (or ... full review

"Two thumbs up from 7 year old" - By Christine Conides (Baldwin, NY United States)
It's a fun game I bought for my 7 year old nephew. He picked up the concept pretty quickly and said it was fun to play.

"Love this game!!" - By mom2girls
Easy to understand instructions, creative, imaginative and clever. My daughters (age 7 and 10) love this game, in fact they often role play the game at the park using only their imagination. For my family, it's the perfect length, my kiddos don't like games that drag on and on, it's long enough to be satisfying but not too long for kids (or adults) to lose interest. The artwork is beautiful and the quality is superb. We played it with a group aging from 65 years old down to 6 and we all really enjoyed it. Trust me when I tell you your whole family will enjoy this game.

"Great Gaming Option for the Younger Set" - By Luv 2 Read (USA)
This is a great gaming option for the younger set. Our family has recently gotten into board games, and our youngest wants to play too, but she's not old enough to understand games like Pathfinder (the card game), Dead of Winter, or Pandemic. I found this and decided to take a chance, and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a game their child could play. My five-year-old daughter has no problem grasping the rules, and after a few games she's already working on the game's strategy. The rules are close enough to the "real" Catan that I very much enjoy playing with her -- they're not so dumbed down that it's boring for an adult, which I was really happy about. I can also see the game leading her into playing the rest of the Catan games when she's older. A solid purchase all around in my book!

"Kids love this fun and educational game" - By Tobe (CA)
This is a fun strategy and puzzle game for all ages. The goal is to get the little red car off the board by moving the other cars to make room for the road. My grandkids (age 6-8) continue to be entertained by this game and the storage pouch that the game comes with is perfect for taking it along on trips. Most of the time, we all end up sitting there, trying to find the way for the red car to get out. And if you keep moving the cars - eventually you get there. The game set comes with cards that show you the starting positions, and they come in different levels - beginning, intermediate, advanced and experts. So you can work your way up and learn as you go. I love the educational value of this game and am glad we got it.

"A lot of fun that holds up over time" - By jj
We have had this item for many years, and it is still our favorite board game. You can develop strategy over time, but even if kids are just matching the animals it can still be fun because someone will eventually "win." It is one of the few games that as an adult, I haven't tired of playing. Games are finished rather quickly, so you don't have to block out a long period of time to play. Rules are easy to learn and explain. I recently bought another copy of this game for one grandson's classroom. It isn't as well-known as some other games, so could make a nice gift item.

"Highly Recommend - Great for Preschoolers and Elementary Aged" - By ArlingtonMommy3
We have 4 year old twins and a 7 year old and they all adore this game. It keeps the kids' interest because it can be different each time depending on how you build the path. They really enjoy working together to pick up the keys and to try and beat ogre. The game is well made - very durable. This is my new "go to" present to give my kids' friends for a birthday present. I highly recommend!

"best card game for a family" - By DD67 (Virginia)
This is so far our favorite gamewright game for our family. It took a little while for our 5 year old to learn the game, but he can now play on his own and has been known to win, Really annoys our 13 year old. This is some strategy involved in this game. you can easily play two people or 6 people. We have 5 in our family. It is nice to have a game that we can all play at one time and it isn't as time consuming as monopoly.

Each player is dealt 4 cards face down.

You line up the cards in front of you face down.

you are allowed to look at the two cards on the end, but not the cards in the middle.

you take turns drawing a card from the pile in the middle(which is face down) or picking ... full review

"Fantastic idea and execution once set up, but setup needs more refinement" - By Jenn F. (PA, USA)
This board and app combination is a fantastic tool/game/toy. It really is! The idea of having a physical piece to make game design feel "more real" is terrific and it's great for my 7 year old son, who LOVES his Minecraft and legos and all those things.

HOWEVER: the initial setup of the board was a major pain in the ass. It really was. Between my husband and I, who are respectively an accomplished computer scientist and a reasonably tech-savvy gamer, we played with the board for over an hour last night each and some more this morning. The board is not matte enough to use in super bright light, but it's not shiny enough to use in low light. We finally made it work in our son's room which has a medium ceiling light with a white light-filtering glass housing, positioning the board so that we can ... full review

"Really surprised me!" - By Heather Garcia (Austin, Texas)
Goat Lord's is a goofy, quick, low key game. I was given the chance to review this item, and since we are pretty avid gamers I thought I'd share some thoughts and a few pro's and con's.

Goat Lords is won by accumulating the most points. You win points by building your goat herd, through births, assisted births, or attacks. You could play multiple rounds and the first to 1,000 wins or just he highest score for one round. You're essentially playing a bonafide 'go fish'. Make a match, make a baby, which expands your herd. Sounds kind of lame and at first I was under impressed with the simplicity of the game but then you start dueling and using action cards and all of a sudden you need to strategize. Do I duel now? Or wait for it to get even more valuable before I attack? Then there's ... full review

"Super Fun and Cute Abstract Game" - By Truesilver7
An awesome game for people of all ages. A great introduction into the world of abstract games. Can be a little hard to track a copy down but it is well worth the buy. Very similar to another cute and fun, Hey That's My Fish!, but with significantly less set up time. So I would recommend this one over that. More games played, more fun.

A game where you can learn to play by looking at the box just proves how easy this is to teach. Hand out tiles, Stack your sheep, and let the fun begin.
