"Great Map for Wargaming of any Genre" - By DAlsager0280
I recently received one of these maps via a promotional purchase from the company, and, I must say, it is a rather amazing piece.

This map is HUGE! It is easily quadrouple the size of any previous mapsheets I own (and at least twice as large as I have previously played on, combined!) Filling every bit of it's [6 ft by 4 ft] description, 'Open Field' is ideal for those wargamers that absolutely must field every single piece of their pocket armies, and even proven to host multiplayer events with enough "elbow room" to fit up to 4 players comfortably.

Placed on an appropriate table (or a pair of tables, in my case!) the features are attractive and alluring to both gamers and non-gamers alike. Even if you don't have an adequately sized table, the map is flexible enough to drape over the edges without ... full review

"I love the aged look of the mat" - By ShadowDreams
Shipping was quick and the mat arrived the day it was scheduled. I love the aged look of the mat! It's perfect for the pathfinder GM I am gifting it too!

"Fantastic Tactical Map" - By Sushi
I bought one of these experimentally for running a Fate tabletop game. It's hard to run combat without at least a basic map for visual reference, and this had stellar reviews. After the first session I bought a second supplementary map for doing interior scenes or "cutaways" from the main action. It's a tough vinyl map that comes tightly rolled up in a plastic bag, a few hours with some heavy books will eliminate any curling. There's a square grid on one side, a hex grid on the other.

It's a slight off-brown that can lend for a sort of parchment-map look, and the grids aren't so bold / brightly colored to be obnoxious. It's big enough to have a decent scene with four or five players, and the pictures give a good reference to the size. I would definitely call this a "battle map" over a campaign or ... full review

"Great mat, but terrible paraphernalia included!" - By Morten Maansson
Mat is perfect, but was delivered with a crappy crumbling eraser and a pen included, that didn't wash off (??).
However Amazon gracefully reimbursed me for the mat, as I could only use it once, due to the stupid pen.

"How Did I Live Without This?" - By Todd A. Davis (Spokane Valley, WA United States)
I picked this mat up in preparation for a Savage Worlds campaign. The system, like many others coming out recently, is geared toward using miniatures to help visualize the situation. It seemed a convenient way to keep track of the immediate area instead of shuffling papers around and redrawing people at key points. Little did I know I would never be able to go back to doing things the old way again.

The pens they suggest are perfect, leaving no marks behind. The squares are 1", which is the standard for most miniatures systems out there. If you plan on doing a lot of drawing on the map and redrawing, you may need to rinse the wet cloth you use. When you wipe off the ink, it has to go somewhere!

This has also sped up our games tremendously, and has people ... full review

"Heavy Enough to lie flat, light enough to carry with you" - By Amazon Customer
This battlemat is heavier vinyl rather than the normal plastic/laminated maps I have previously used. This is a good thing, because it lays flat with little coaxing after being stored in a roll. This means using terrain tiles - and pretty much the whole experience in general - is easier. The markers are nice with built-in erasers. I agree with other reviewers you may wish to get full-size Expo 2 or equivalent dry erase markers. The grid lines are thick, making black marker hard to see and thus thicker lines drawn with other colors are customary for drawing walls along the lines. If I had one thing negative to say, the grid lines would be better as thin lines. Currently, they sort of dominate the visual experience, making it a little difficult to see the lines you draw.

"Great look and light weight!" - By Steven G
This is a unique look and wanted this size for Epic play for both Star Wars Miniatures and Star Trek Attack Wing. At first I was shocked how thin it was but it was a lot lighter than the mouse pad version. It looks great and does lay flat after a minute of resting on the table. There is some minor texture but your miniatures will slide if bumped. Shipping came in a timely manor and the price was alright for what I was getting. The only down side I have is that it does get scratched up easily compared to the mouse pad version
