Played this game in 1940 in Romania as a 10 years old. Same game but the boards holding the tiles were made of wood. The tiles themselves must have been bone - we did not have cheap plastics then. This year we intend going on a 2 week cruise with another couple and looked for a game that we can play together for the days at sea. I remembered Rummi (it was not called Rummikub then).
We bought it Amazon and invited our friends to introduce them to the game. They were dubious but I assured them that it will be fun, social but competitive, easy to learn but interesting - requiring a sharp mind for numbers and capacity for pattern recognition (we are all in our 80s). Outside of the horrible paint smell, this is a wonderful little set. The tiles are much more enjoyable to use than the cards, as you don't have to be holding them the entire game. They also feel nice and have a good heft to them. The box and items have a bad smell which doesn't seem to want to go away, and the art on the tiles is not engraved so it can chip off or be worn down with heavy use. The game itself is very good, a quick filler that can become addictive.(39) -

I purchased these Scrabble tiles for a craft project I was working on. When the tiles came in, I noticed they were a little thinner but taller than standard Scrabble tiles, not to mention lighter in weight and also the letters were not fully imprinted like the real deal. The product worked for my intended purpose, but I wanted it to be known that this product is made cheaper than the real thing.(857) -

I was looking for a travel Scrabble game to take on vacation to replace my previously owned folio travel board. I chose this set because it cost significantly less than a new folio. Funny enough, I like this one better. The board and tiles are larger than either the folio or the classic travel version, but overall the game is still very compact. The board does not fold, but it is very thin and fits into luggage just as easily as the folding folio version. While the tiles don't actually "click" in, the knobs on each square corner keep the tiles in place pretty well and the pieces are easy to remove when the game is over. The squares fill the entire board (which is about 10.25 inches square) which makes the game easier to read than the smaller traditional travel board. The racks ... full review(619) -

I recently purchased these because I am going to start doing some preschool activities at home with my three year old. I debated between getting the 50 counting bears with cups (also by eureka) and these. I decided to get these for four reasons:
1. There are more counters (100 instead of 50)
2. There are five animals instead of just one
3. I have enough "cups" around for sorting
4. They were actually a little cheaper when I purchased them
I am extremely happy with the purchase. Both my three year old and my 15 month have played with these several times in several different ways - that is what I really like about this toy is that it is versatile and can be used for teaching many different skills. Love the game but hope they correct the print on the letters. They smudged off, I contracted them and they sent replacements for one of the two games I purchased. I had to purchase an oil pen to remark the remaining games' letters. I didn't want to have to pay another $20.oo (as suggested by customer service) for letters that may also smudge. The replacements they sent to appear to be keeping the ink and not smudging. If they know of this flaw they should replace any letters of games purchased. Great game though, especially if you have more than 2 players.(181) -

I purchased these for a craft project/gift, and was nervous about what the quality would be like. It turns out, I had NOTHING to fear. These tiles look and feel like they came straight out of a brand new box of Scrabble. They are smooth, shiny, and I found no imperfections on any of the tiles.
