Great puzzle. It took a few tries for my 3 year old to put it together by himself. He still would prefer help, so it is a challenge, but that's a good thing. Definitely glad to own it.(50) -
"We Both Enjoyed It" - By Bonnie V 1210 (Illinois)
My husband is not really into jigsaw puzzles, but I love them. This subject matter was interesting to him, though, so we had a lot of fun working on it after work each day while we talked and caught up. The pieces are large and thick enough to be easy to handle but not so much as to be clunky. We even framed and hung this one without gluing it.(9) -

A great way to learn the alphabet. Bright colored pieces easily fit together and are made of thick material so the edges don't bend. My three-year-old great-nephew wanted to put it together immediately. The animal matches the letter, so we would call out the letter, and he would find the animal. It is LONG! Love this puzzle!(187) -

This is a very good quality wooden puzzle...it would take quite a bit of chewing, throwing, and jumping up and down on to break it. (Ours is still in good condition.)
As far as the "random" choo-choo's go - the sound is light activated; when the lights go out (as in, when all the puzzle pieces are put into place), it makes a choo-choo sound.
The only criticism for this is that the "recommended age" could probably be lowered to 2 or 2.5 years old. Our 3 year old loses interest quite quickly, and he loves trains (and liked simple puzzles like this about 6-12 months ago.) He still enjoys the CHOOOOCHOOOO sound of this puzzle, though.(56) -

My daughter is 3 and knows all her letters and has suddenly become very excited about jigsaws. I thought this would be a great aide to her 'knowing' the alphabet apart from singing the song. The pieces are large and seem fairly thick and durable. Each has a train carriage with a letter on it and something in the carriage beginning with that letter eg. Lion in the 'L' carriage. She has put it together a few times, but I think because she has to start the alphabet from "A' each time to figure out the next letter, the whole process is a bit tedious for her, so it isn't her favorite. Maybe as her knowledge grows she'll get into it more. When it is finished the child gets a great sense of accomplishment from this puzzle because it is so big. I'd ... full review(116) -

My two year old loves trains so he really enjoys the puzzle. The picture of the train itself is great- lots of color and lots of detail, so it's very easy for him to point out all of the parts. My only complaint is that the puzzle is rather thin for a floor puzzle and some of the pieces don't stay together as well as I would like...that makes it hard to put together on carpeting. We have to do it on the kitchen tile. Of course, many people have hardwood floors so it might not be as big of an issue. But overall, a very cute puzzle.(24) -

List Price: $12.99 Price: $10.91 You Save: $2.08 (16%) "Nice puzzle for toddlers" - By MurfyGirl (Orlando, FL United States)
I like this peg puzzle and so does my son. When the child is finished, they get to hear the sound of the train. It's not too loud, which is nice. It knows to play the sound by using light sensitive sensors. In some cases the room is too dark for the sensors to notice the light change and the sound doesn't play. This can be frustrating to a toddler because then they think it's broken. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars. If you play in a brightly lit room or somewhere near sunlight, it shouldn't be a problem though.(72) -

Fun puzzle. Well-made and the facts and timeline included on the puzzle made it very educational for our five-year-old train lover. We spread it out on our coffee table and finished it within a week. Great for families looking for something fun to do that doesn't involve screentime.(6) -

My 2 year old loves puzzles and these wooden puzzles are perfect for him. He just turned 3 and these are quite easy for him but he still enjoys them and loves breaking them down and mixing them up and reconfiguring them for hours. These are definitely wooden, so they don't break and bend like those cardboard puzzles do. They are probably best for kids 30 months and up. They are sizable but not too big and certainly fun and great for motor skills.(587) -

Price: $17.99 "The slow, scenic way to hit the road" - By LegoGirl
I really enjoyed working on this vintage train poster puzzle. There's not so much writing or logos, but the bright colors are a big help in getting sections assembled. I would say this was a medium challenge, but not frustrating in any way. Train travel looks great in this collage, a long by-gone era now.
I am loyal to the White Mountain brand for my jigsaws. Consistent quality and durability means I can assemble, dissemble, and enjoy over and over. Sturdy pieces, clean cuts, and no weird shapes! I also really like the size of each piece (about the same as a quarter or postage stamp), perfect for both little and big fingers to pick up and handle. This puzzle came with a cardboard stand to hold up th box lid for easy reference.(3) -
"Overall I enjoyed it" - By Kindle Customer (Bradenton, Fl, USA)
This was my first kit of this type. It is a nice looking display. Be aware that it requires some thought as the instructions amount to diagrams of the sheets that contain the precut wood pieces. The pieces are numbered and you have to reference back and forth to find the matching parts (tab 1 fits into slot 1, etc).Unless you want to use a magnifying glass I recommend copying the diagrams to a larger size. The picture above is on the other side of the diagrams and was also useful.
Most parts required super glue to stay together. I used emery boards (cheap nail files) to sand some parts. A few parts required an x-acto knife to free them from the boards. Remember to prefit parts. Take your time and have fun.(16)
