  • I own all of my inventory.  All books and records that I post for sale here on Amazon are in my personal, immediate possession, stored in my smoke free home; please feel free to contact me if you would like additional photos, I will respond promptly.

  • My life / business philosophy is simple; treat others the way I would expect and wish to be treated.   In practical terms, this means that I ship your purchase the next day (including Saturdays) and you receive precisely what you have ordered.   

  • Barring unforeseen circumstances (snowstorms, etc.),  I will ship your order within 18 to 24 hours of your purchase, including on Saturday (the local post office closes at 1 pm).

  • I offer standard shipping by default.  Please contact me before you order if you would prefer expedited shipping.

Shipping Policies

I personally package all items that I have for sale.

  • Books are wrapped in plastic; I then wrap them tightly in cardboard and seal the package completely with clear packing tape.

  • LPs also are wrapped in plastic. I cushion them with bubble wrap, then enclose them completely in cardboard, which is then sealed with packing tape.  In 14 years of shipping LPs, I've had only one returned to me because it was damaged in shipping.

All books and records that I post for sale here on Amazon are in my personal, immediate possession.  I do not drop ship (i.e., have other sellers mail items to you).   I ship internationally as well as within the USA and can usually do so with as little as 18 hours notice, and certainly within one business day on all orders.  

  • I use the US Postal service, and USPS tracking is always provided.  
  • If you would prefer that I use another shipping service for your particular order, please let me know, and I will be glad to accommodate your request.
  • Likewise, if you would like expedited shipping, please contact me before you place your order to ensure a smooth and timely delivery.

Tax Information

Sales tax is not separately calculated and collected in connection with items ordered from Classic Vinyl LPs through the Amazon.com Site unless explicitly indicated as such in the ordering process. Items ordered from Classic Vinyl LPs may be subject to tax in certain states, based on the state to which the order is shipped. If an item is subject to sales tax, in accordance with state tax laws, the tax is generally calculated on the total selling price of each individual item, including shipping and handling charges, gift-wrap charges and other service charges, less any applicable discounts. If tax is separately calculated and collected in connection with items ordered from Classic Vinyl LPs through the Amazon.com Site, the tax amounts that appear during the ordering process are estimated - the actual taxes that will be charged to your credit card will be calculated at the time your order is processed and will appear in your order confirmation notification.

How to you package your books and records?
  • Books are wrapped in at least three sheets of tissue paper; I then wrap them tightly in cardboard and seal the package completely with packing tape. LPs also are wrapped in several layers of tissue paper.  I cushion them with bubble wrap and cardboard, then enclose them completely in a cardboard box, which is then sealed with packing tape.  In more than 15 years of shipping LPs, I've had only one returned to me because it was damaged in shipping.
Are your "new" books actually "new"?
  • Yes, they are.  Additionally, some of these books are out of print and in the bookselling trade are known as "new old stock."  That is, even though they were published 5, 10, 15 years ago, they are still in brand new condition.  They have been in storage, so there may be some fading on the page edges and a light blemish or two on the cover, the result of sitting in a box and being moved about.  I do not misrepresent the condition of the items I have for sale, for example, by labeling something "new" when it is not.  
You have several LPs described as being in "mint" condition, even though they have been opened.  How can they be "mint"?
  • I own thousands of LPs that were previously owned by several classical music radio stations; most were supplied to the radio stations already opened (a condition of the transfer); others were opened but never played; others were played perhaps once.  I also own thousands of LPs that I obtained over the years from European collectors, which were never meant to be played (and never were).   Finally, many LP owners remove the cellophane from the slipcase even if they have no intention of playing the record.  The concern here is that the vinyl LP will warp as the cellophane adjusts to variable temperatures and shrinks and expands.  A Google search on this topic will bring up thousands of articles.
Will you refund my money if I am not satisfied?
  • Absolutely, often within a few hours of your request and in full accordance with Amazon's return policy.   I may ask that you return the item to me before I issue the refund; in these cases, I will pay for return shipping.
Do you own all the products you sell?
  • Yes, I do.  They are stored in my smoke free, climate controlled home.  I do not drop ship, i.e., have other Amazon sellers send you products that you order from me, because there is no way for me to verify the condition of the item you will be receiving.
Why are your descriptions so detailed?
  • I believe that I owe the customer as accurate as possible a description of the product I am selling.  I try to provide photos of all my listings; if you ever need a photo, please write and I will be glad to provide one.
 Can you ship an item on the same day?
  • Yes, often I can.  Please write to me before you purchase with a link to the specific item and I will let you know.  Everything I post here is in my personal possession, which means I can ship within a minimum of 12 hours of your order.
Do you use tracking?
  • I use the US Postal Service and I always use tracking.  If something is damaged in the mail (a rare occurrence) please let me know and I will refund your money immediately.

Are you easy to work with?

  • I am perhaps the most trustworthy person with whom you will ever work.  I have been in business online for some 15 years and have managed relationships with quality-conscious customers all of the world.   If you ever have a problem with something you have purchased from my store, please let me know and I will take care of your concerns to your complete satisfaction.
