Safe Home Products, Inc. Shipping Rates

Shipping rates are calculated upon the product weight and shipping speeds requested. Safe Home Products does ship internationally via UPS and USPS Express Mail. 

** CANADA "Standard" Shipments are sent by USPS Global Express Mail where possible.  This provides us with a tracking number and prevents the customer from paying brokerage fees.  This option is bit more expensive than other options but we have found that it leads to fewer surprises and a better customer experience. **

International customers pay all brokerage, duties and taxes on products purchased from Safe Home Products that are shipped to international destinations.  Brokerage is less on products shipped by International Express Mail.  Brokerage is included on UPS Express and Expedited shipments. Brokerage costs for UPS begin at approximately USD35 per package.

 

Shipping rates depend on the selected shipping speed and weight/size of the items.

Shipping Policies

If you have any questions about if a package will arrive in time, please call us at 877-358-0900 M-F 8am-5pm central time.

A processed order usually ships within one to five business days unless noted. Orders with expedited shipping usually are sent second (business) day air and ship the same business day if the order is received by 10am Central Time. For temporarily out of stock items or delayed shipments, you will be contacted by e-mail or telephone. If an item is permanently unavailable, the charge will be voided or a complete refund will be made to your card. We will notify you if this occurs.

Items ship directly from Safe Home Products' Iowa City warehouse or from off-site warehouses. Customers choose a preferred shipping method. Certain products ship only via UPS, Federal Express, USPS (Mail), etc. Many products can ship to APO/FPO addresses.

Delivery confirmation numbers and freight delivery numbers are provided via e-mail for most orders.

International customers pay all brokerage, duties and taxes on products purchased from Safe Home Products. Safe Home Products is unable to estimate what these fees will be. Please check with your local customs officials and review local tax codes.

We may use Personally Identifiable Information (your name, e-mail address, street address, telephone number) subject to the terms of this privacy policy. Please note this policy applies only to information collected by SafeHomeProducts.com online and does not impact information collected or used by Safe Home Products or its affiliates through other means.

Safe Home Products licenses services from Authorize.net, to provide our customers with a secure order entry process. Our web pages receive encrypted information from a customer's browser using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Then our servers communicate with Authorize.net via a secure SSL protocol to verify and process credit card and electronic check transactions. Once a transaction is completed, Safe Home Products does not retain your credit card or check account information. All orders with a valid email address receive an email from us indicating the order was received. Certain e-mail providers may automatically block receipt of this e-mail unless the customer gives permission. Authorize.net may send you a second email confirming your credit card was charged. Many completed orders with a valid email address also receive an email from Safe Home Products when the order ships. Some orders may require additional correspondence to complete the ordering process.

Occasionally, customers order items that are temporarily out of stock. In these situations we often ask the warehouse to ship the orders directly to our customers. In these cases we fax the drop shipper a copy of the Packing Slip for the shipment. This Packing Slip contains ship to name, address, telephone, and product information. No price or credit card information is ever displayed on a Packing Slip. We require our suppliers to adhere to our privacy policy as it applies to our customers.

We provide a free quarterly e-mail newsletter to any visitor to our web site who chooses to subscribe via the sign up mechanism located on our home page. Safe Home Products licenses the software that maintains this mailing list, including allowing users to subscribe and unsubscribe, from Microsoft bCentral. Tax Information

Sales tax is not separately calculated and collected in connection with items ordered from Safe Home Products, Inc. through the Amazon.com Site unless explicitly indicated as such in the ordering process. Items ordered from Safe Home Products, Inc. may be subject to tax in certain states, based on the state to which the order is shipped. If an item is subject to sales tax, in accordance with state tax laws, the tax is generally calculated on the total selling price of each individual item, including shipping and handling charges, gift-wrap charges and other service charges, less any applicable discounts. If tax is separately calculated and collected in connection with items ordered from Safe Home Products, Inc. through the Amazon.com Site, the tax amounts that appear during the ordering process are estimated - the actual taxes that will be charged to your credit card will be calculated at the time your order is processed and will appear in your order confirmation notification.

Q: I entered my tracking number and the shipping site says no information is available. Did my package ship?

A: For packages sent by couriers such as UPS and FedX, the tracking information is not active until the package is scanned at the facility, which is mid to late evening. Packages sent by the Postal Service often only have two scans, an outbound scan and a delivered scan.

Q: Why can't I order window guards on line for casement and slider windows?

A: We prefer to assist our customers so that window guards fit properly in the windows. Most windows require combinations of guards rather than a single guard. Guards made for double hung and single hung windows are easier to fit since they only fill a space below a solid window pane. For larger orders, we will tell you which guards fit which windows.

Q: What are the duties, brokerage, and taxes for packages shipped outside the USA?

A: Each shipping destination has different charges depending upon national and local laws. Check with local taxing officials prior to ordering if you want specific charges.  Safe Home Products is unable to assist with this determination. We do know that items shipped by US Global Express Mail have significantly lower brokerage fees than those shipped by couriers such as UPS and DHL.

Q: Can Safe Home Products ship a package as a gift to my sister who lives outside the USA? That way she won't have to pay as much in taxes.

A: No. Packages shipped as gifts to persons outside the USA must come from an individual, not from a business.

Q:  Can Safe Home Products provide an invoice for my international order showing the cost of an item as being less than the price I paid? That way my taxes will be lower.

A: No. Our business operates on honesty and integrity. We always provide accurate invoices for products purchased.

Refund / Returns Policies

Returns:

1)Returns are limited to 30 days from shipment date. Some products are not returnable due to sanitary health issues or consumable components.

2)Returns are accepted only with a valid Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Contact us for an RMA number and instructions.

3)Customers pay shipping for returns.

Replacements:

1) Defective products (material/workmanship) are replaced without charge if defects are reported within 30 days. Replacements are shipped for non-receipt after tracking efforts fail.

2) Refuse delivery of broken or smashed boxes. Report hidden damage immediately. Claims are accepted up to 10 days after receipt.

Cancellation:

1) Contact us by phone to change or cancel an order. After an order ships, our return policies apply.

Refunds/Restocking Fees:

1) A credit memo equal to the product price excluding shipping is issued for eligible products returned within 30 days. Credit memos are valid for 90 days.

2) A 20% re-stocking fee applies to refund returns. Shipping/handling charges are not refunded. Customized products are not restockable.

3) Returns must have all original packaging, parts, in an unused "new" condition. We reserve the right to refuse credit or refund for items that do not meet restockable criteria.

Gift Wrap

Some merchants offer gift wrapping for an additional fee. If Safe Home Products, Inc. offers gift wrapping for an item, it will be noted in the ordering process. In these cases, you will find details of the gift wrap patterns offered and the cost of the service.

Gift Message

You can add a gift message for your order.  Your message will be displayed in bold near the top of the packing slip.  There is no charge for this feature.  Thank you!
