International Shipping:

Will I have to pay any taxes or import duties?

There are no U.S. taxes; however, you will be responsible for any additional customs handling fees, duties and/or taxes. Because each country is different, and these fees change often, we do not know these fees. Your local post/customs office can give you this information.

What happens if I refuse or abandon my order?

Midwest Sports Supply cannot issue Amazon refunds for international packages which are refused or abandoned.

Who is responsible for import fees, duties, and other charges?

You will be the importer of record and will be responsible for all levies, duties, import fees, taxes and other charges. We strongly suggest that you check with your local government agency to determine the extent of such charges prior to purchase. We cannot issue credit in cases where packages are not delivered due to non-payment of fees.

Racquet Information:

What are the pros and cons of midplus, oversize, and super oversize rackets?

Generally, the oversize (110-115 square inches) or super oversize (116-135 square inches) rackets are best suited for baseline players or doubles players. These rackets offer more power and have larger sweet spots than smaller headsize rackets. These rackets are also more stable on off-center hits.

The midsize (less than 89 square inches) or midplus (90-105 square inches) rackets are often preferred by all court or serve and volley players. If you are confused about headsize, the best thing to do is try two of the same kind of racket in different headsizes and see which one you are most comfortable with.

What's the difference between regular duty and extra duty tennis balls?

Regular duty balls are specifically designed to provide optimum performance on clay and indoor court surfaces. Extra duty balls are constructed with extra duty felt that performs and holds up better on hard, abrasive outdoor surfaces.

What racquet size and string should I use to obtain more power or control?

For power, use a midsize racquet strung with natural gut at 60 pounds because this tension gives the maximum bounce. If control is your main concern, and your stroke puts a lot of topspin on the ball, string very tight and use small-head racquets. Restring often because string tension decreases quickly.

Selecting a Grip Size

Grip Sizes go in order from 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8. 1/8 being the smallest and 5/8 being the largest. Most men are 3/8 - 5/8 and most women are 1/8 - 3/8. There are a couple of ways to determine your grip size. First, hold a racquet with your palm against the same bevel as the string face. You should be able to comfortably fit the index finger of your other hand in the space between your ring finger and the palm of the hand holding the racquet. If there is not enough space for your finger, the grip is too small. If there is too much space, the grip is too large.

A second way to measure is with a ruler. With the palm of your hand open, fingers extended and close together, measure the length from the bottom lateral crease of your palm (between the thumb and index finger) to the tip of your ring finger.

If you are between two grip sizes, we recommend that you go with the smaller size. It is easier to increase the size of a handle than to reduce it.
