Return Policies:

You may return most new, unused, and undamaged items within 30 days of the date the product was delivered. We will also pay for return shipping charges if the return is due to our error, is damaged or defective.

Please request a return by following the prompts on your Amazon order page, emailing our customer service team, or calling us at the number below. Once submitted, our returns department will review your request for an RMA and determine if you meet the requirements of our Returns Policy. If a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is approved, you will receive an email containing specific instructions about how to return your product.

PlumberSurplus does not allow drop off returns. The return must be shipped back to the address specified in your Return Instructions email.

Types of Returns

I Don't Want the Product Anymore or I Want to Exchange the Product

You have 30 days from the date your product was delivered to request an RMA. If you wish to exchange the product, you may place a new order, independent of the returns process. A 20% restocking fee will be charged on all returned products unless the products were originally damaged or defective. Shipping costs are not refunded. Original shipping fees will not be refunded. You will be required to pay return shipping fees. If you delivery refuse your shipment, those return shipping fees will be deducted from your return refund. If the return is damaged in transit back to us, the package will be delivery refused by our warehouse and you will need to contact the shipper to open a damage claim. If your original order was placed under our Free Shipping promotion, the original shipping savings for the returned products will be subtracted from your refund amount, unless the products are damaged or defective.

The Product I Ordered is Not the Product I Received

You have 30 days from the date your product was delivered to request an RMA. In most cases, we will issue you a call tag so all you will need to do is deliver your return to an authorized shipper for which the call tag was issued. Once the RMA has been received and approved, PlumberSurplus will, at your preference, replace the product or issue a refund. If you request a refund, your original method of payment will be credited. If you request a replacement product, a replacement order will be placed. If your RMA is denied, return shipping costs will be deducted from your refund.

The Product Is Damaged

You have 3 days from the date your product was delivered to request an RMA. Once the RMA and damage claim with the shipper have been completed, PlumberSurplus will, at your preference, replace the product or issue a refund. If you request a refund, your original method of payment will be credited. If you request a replacement product, a replacement order will be submitted.

The Product is Defective

You have 30 days from the date your product was delivered to request an RMA. In most cases, we will issue you a call tag so all you will need to do is deliver your return to an authorized shipper for which the call tag was issued. The item must be returned to us before your replacement or refund is issued. If we determine that the product is defective, PlumberSurplus will, at your preference, replace the product or issue a refund. If you request a refund, your original method of payment will be credited. If you request a replacement product, a replacement order will be submitted. If we determine that the product is not defective, your RMA will be denied. If you wish to have the product shipped back to you, you must issue a call tag

Cross Shipping

We do not ship replacement products until the RMA has been completed (cross-ship). If you need a replacement product before the RMA is completed, you may place a new order, independent of the returns process. Please remember, placing a new order does not guarantee an RMA approval or refund.

Refusing Delivery

Any customer who refuses delivery of an undamaged product will be responsible for all shipping charges associated with the order (including original and return shipping charges) and a 20% restocking fee. This applies even if a neighbor or child refuses the delivery without your consent. PlumberSurplus needs to be notified when a package is delivery refused because an RMA will need to be set up for you.

All returns must include the following:

-An approved Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number

-Original, intact packaging (i.e. manufacturer's box, packing materials, styrofoam, plastic bags, etc.). Products must be in the original packaging and in reselable condition.

-Original intact UPC barcode, if one exists. Do not cut out the UPC code until you have examined and tested the product to your satisfaction. Removal of the UPC code voids any possibility of return regardless of RMA status.

-All accessories included in the original shipment

-All documentation (i.e. manufacturer documents, manuals, product literature, unused warranty cards, unused registration information, etc.).

-PlumberSurplus is not responsible for packages lost or damaged in transit while being returned if return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.

All items will be inspected and those that do not meet the above mentioned criteria will be denied. If an item is denied, return shipping would be the responsibility of the customer.

Standard Return Criteria

Once your RMA has been approved, if you have been issued a call tag you have 14 days in which to take the product to the identified carrier. If you are responsible for shipping the return, then you have 3 days to ship the product via a trackable carrier.

Items must be returned in new or unused conditions. Products that have been installed or used are not eligible for an RMA unless they are defective. Some products, if opened, may only be returned for a replacement product and not for a refund.

If you are ineligible for an RMA or your RMA has been denied, you may still contact the manufacturer of the product directly as there may be an applicable warranty.

Freight/LTL Shipments

The freight carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery appointment, please make sure you have a valid phone number on your account for them to reach you at. Before taking delivery of your freight / LTL shipment, you must carefully inspect your product before signing for or accepting delivery. If you discover damage do not sign for the product and refuse delivery. Freight shipped and over-sized products, if signed for or accepted for delivery, may not be returned. Notes left for carriers instructing them to deliver in your absence, are considered acceptance of delivery, and may not be returned. By signing for or accepting delivery of an LTL or freight item, you acknowledge that the products are not damaged and you understand that you cannot return the products as damaged. If the freight carrier will not let you delivery refuse the item because it has been opened or will not let you inspect the item, please notate any damage on the paper you must sign or notate that they did not allow you to inspect. 

Manufacturer Only Returns and Products that Cannot be Returned

Some products may only be returned or exchanged directly with the manufacturer. For these products, it is the customer's responsibility to contact the manufacturer directly to return the products. When contacting the manufacturer, be prepared to provide them with the following information: receipt, date of purchase, model number, serial number and manufacturer part number of the product that you would like to return.

Some products may be non-cancelable and / or non-returnable, they are listed below:

-Products that have been installed and are not defective.

-Products identified as non-cancelable and or non-returnable.

-Products identified as special order.

 Typographical Errors

In the event a product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to typographical error or error in pricing or product information received from our suppliers, PlumberSurplus shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for product listed at the incorrect price or with the incorrect information. PlumberSurplus shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, PlumberSurplus shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge.

Delivery Estimates

Your Amazon order will show you our estimated shipping and delivery times. We do our best to accurately estimate when items will ship from our facilities. Estimated shipping dates are based on several factors, including how quickly we can pack and ship items for your order. Just because tracking is not posted on your Amazon account, does not mean your item has not shipped.

Shipping time is a combination of the following: the time from order placement till shipment, together with the time your order is in transit, equals the total time to get your product.

Order Processing Time

Normal processing time before shipment is one to two business days.

Cancellation Requests

If you submit a cancellation request, all efforts will be taken to cancel the order. Once an item is either processed for shipment or shipped, we are unable to cancel the order and the item will be shipped out. If you want to return the item, please let us know and we can set up a "Don't Want" return for you. Please note, your order may have already shipped, even if Amazon does not have your tracking information posted.

Shipping Methods

When you select any of the following methods of shipment, we may use choose to elevate shipping as necessary to get your items to you within the appropriate time frame. We use a variety of carriers for each shipping option. It is not possible to specify a preferred carrier when placing your order. Below is the estimated transit time for items via each method of shipping.

    Freight Shipments (LTL) - Generally take 7 to 10 business days

    Ground Shipping - Generally takes 3 to 5 business days

    Expedited - Generally takes 1-3 business days

Selecting expedited shipping does not guarantee your order will arrive in one to three days. Also be aware that there are not typically weekend pickups or deliveries for any shipping method.

 Freight Items

Products that are not shipped via UPS and FedEx or weigh over 150 pounds (such as most Bathroom Furniture and Shower Doors) may be marked on their product detail pages and require special handling, meaning that they usually will ship via Frieght or LTL (Less Than Truckload). The shipping charges for these items may be indicated on their product detail pages and will be calculated for you at the shopping cart or the last step of the checkout process before you send us your order. Please note that each shipment of these items requires an adult signature upon delivery and the shipping company will contact you on the phone number provided on your shipping information to set up a specific delivery time. Freight deliveries may not be on time if the carrier is unable to reach you to schedule your delivery or if you are unavailable for delivery during the estimated delivery range.

Remember, before taking delivery of your freight / LTL shipment, you must carefully inspect your product before signing for or accepting delivery. If you discover damage do not sign for the product and refuse delivery. Freight shipped and oversized products, if signed for or accepted for delivery, may not be returned. Notes left for carriers instructing them to deliver in your absence, are considered accepted for delivery, and may not be returned. By signing for or accepting delivery of an LTL or freight item, you acknowledge that the products are not damaged and you understand that you cannot return the products as damaged.

Free Shipping Promotion

If your original order was placed under our Free Shipping promotion, the original shipping savings for the returned products will be subtracted from your refund amount, unless the products are damaged or defective.

Shipping Restrictions

Warranty issues, manufacturer restrictions and product nature prevent us from shipping certain products to all geographical locations.

Undeliverable Packages

Occasionally packages are returned to us as undeliverable. If you suspect your order cannot be delivered as addressed and you have not received confirmation of its return after four weeks from an estimated delivery date, please contact us.

Our carriers may deem a package undeliverable for one of the following reasons:

Incorrect Address

If the address is incorrect or outdated, the package is typically returned to us by the carrier or the unintended recipient. Please double-check your address carefully when placing a new order.

To change an outdated or incorrect address from your account, edit your shipping information in your Amazon account. If you have an open order with an incorrect ship to address please contact customer service, as updating your account does not automatically update an open order. Orders not yet shipped will be updated. Orders in route may be redirected per your request; charges will be the responsibility of the customer. After your order is returned, it will be processed as a Don’t Want and a subsequent order would have to be placed.

Address Format

If a post office box address was entered in a format our system does not recognize, the package would process as an incorrect address. Please see Shipping Restrictions.

Failed Delivery Attempts

Most of our carriers will make three attempts to deliver a package. Packages that contain a certain dollar amount of merchandise may require a signature. Otherwise, it is generally up to the driver's discretion to determine whether a signature is required. If the driver feels it is best to obtain a signature and no one is present to accept the delivery after three attempts, the package will be returned to us. After your order is returned, it will be processed as a Don’t Want and a subsequent order would have to be placed.

Refusing Delivery

Any customer who refuses delivery of an undamaged product will be responsible for all shipping charges associated with the order (including original and return shipping charges) and a 20% restocking fee. This applies even if a neighbor or child refuses the delivery without your consent. 

Delivery Date

If the order is past an estimated delivery date and you have not received it, please contact customer service and we would be happy to check on the status of your order. Orders shipped via a trackable method, such as UPS, should have tracking information available in the order summary in your Amazon account. Please check this information if available and review the following options:

If the tracking information indicates the package has been delivered, please check with your neighbors, family members or mail department. Packages are occasionally left with neighbors, building managers, or are placed somewhere relatively safe such as your porch, driveway, garage, or even behind bushes, as determined by the carrier 

If the tracking information indicates that the package is being returned to us, or if the address is outdated or incorrect, it may have been undeliverable. Please contact us with questions if you are not sure where your order is.

How long does it generally take to process an order?
It usually takes one to two business days for us to process an order (prior to shipping it). Once the order has shipped, your estimated time of arrival will be determined by your selected shipping method. Estimated shipping dates are based on several factors, including how quickly we can obtain and assemble items for shipment.

What happens if an item is backordered?
PlumberSurplus tries to accurately estimate ship dates on a product by product basis, occasionally products will be backordered by the manufacturer. If this is the case PlumberSurplus can ship the item as soon as we receive our shipment from the manufacturer or cancel the order and issue a full refund depending on customer preference.

What happens when an item is out-of-stock?
Not all products listed on our site are immediately available for shipping. We do our best to accurately estimate when items will ship from our facilities. These estimates are based on several factors, including how quickly we can obtain and assemble items for shipment. If a product is out of stock lead times may vary. A PlumberSurplus representative should be able to help best estimate the delivery time of a product based on warehouse and manufacturer information.

Does PlumberSurplus charge sales tax?
Only if the products purchased are being shipped to or billed to a California address. PlumberSurplus main office is located in California and therefore these orders are subject to a sales tax. If you are a tax-exempt government agency or have a Reseller’s permit in California, please fax the appropriate documentation to 951-588-0463 and call customer service at 888-867-1377 so that a PlumberSurplus representative can set up your account accordingly.

Why would my credit/debit card be declined when I know for certain that I have the funds available?
A credit card can decline due to an incorrectly-entered credit card number, an address mismatch, an incorrect expiration date, a daily limit, insufficient credit or other reasons. Contact your credit card company for more information. Please note that authorizations, may take 24-48 hours to drop off of your pending transactions.
