I have ceramic floors and this is so easy to use and does an excellent job of cleaning. Yes, it is a must when you have ceramic floors; highly recommend. My girlfriend recommended the SHARK to me years ago, and since I moved into a home with ceramic floors; I decided to purchase based on her recommendation. I would like to recommend this product to you.

THe Shark cleaned old vinyl flooring in my laundry room, something I thought was impossible. Impressive clean! Works well on bathroom tile where hairspray tends to accumulate.

Five months ago, I hesitantly purchased (directly from Amazon) the Euro-Pro Shark Steam Pocket Mop version with 2 heads and 4 microfiber pocket pads ... but I am SO glad I did. I LOVE this steam mop. I have TILE and WOOD floors throughout my house and they have been nearly impossible to keep clean (as evidenced by my kids' no-so-white sock bottoms). Anyway, I had been researching all of the various steam mops trying to find that "perfect" mop that would work miracles. I thought I had decided on one, but then (while flipping channels) saw the infomercial for this mop. It appeared to be EXACTLY what I was looking for. As with most infomercials, I was VERY skeptical that the product would REALLY do what it claimed to do. Luckily, I took the leap of faith, and purchased one from Amazon.com. I could not be happier with this mop. It REALLY does STEAM (alot) and get all of the gross built up dirt and grime off the floors.

I HATE cleaning floors! I'm more of a carpet person, so for me to say I love this product is absolutely amazing. I had a Hoover FloorMate (which I purchased 7 years ago), but it was ALOT of effort to clean up AFTER ... and it only had the brush scrubbers (so it didn't really WIPE the floors clean) AND it required the special Hoover cleaner (which I ruined mine by using Pine Sol ... which it specifically says not to use). Then I moved to the cheaper (although, not really after you buy all of the disposable pads and cleaner) Swiffer Wet Jet. It was ok for the quick clean-ups, IF my floor was already pretty much clean to begin with. But the Swiffer Wet Jet never CLEANED my floors. It was EXTREMELY frustrating to spend time and money cleaning and then STILL see the dirty sock bottoms (which meant the floors weren't really clean).

PLEASE NOTE: There are TWO (2) versions of the NEWER MODEL steam mop ... the PURPLE version has 2 heads (rectangle and triangle) with 5 PADS (2 rectangle, 2 triangle, 1 purple duster) and the SILVER/metallic version has 3 heads (XL rectangle, rectangle and triange) and 4 PADS (1 XL rectangle, 1 rectangle, 1 triangle, 1 purple duster). Both have the carpet glider. The XL kit, as well as extra PADS can all be purchased separately. I bought mine at Newegg.

The things I like about the Euro Pro Shark Steam Pocket Mop are ...
1. It has a LONG 30ft. cord so you are not constantly plugging and unplugging,
2. It has sturdy/thick microfiber machine washable/reusable TWO-SIDED pads (all of the stains don't come out, but they have held up VERY well to repeated washings),
3. It has a LARGE water tank, so you are not constantly re-filling the tank,
4. It has a SWIVEL head (3 different HEAD sizes/shapes) that FLIPS for two-sided cleaning,
5. It really STEAMS while cleaning and gets off the built on dirt,
6. It cleans WITHOUT any chemicals ... only tap water (I prefer using hot water),
7. It HEATS up quickly (under a minute ... although I usually let it heat for 5 minutes).

Things you should know ...
1. As with mopping, you need to vacuum or sweep BEFORE steam mopping (do this WHILE the mop is heating up).
2. Filling with hot water worked best for me.
3. PUMP/prime the mop about 10 times before you start mopping (this gets the STEAM really going).
4. Make sure you have AT LEAST 2 pads (4-sides of cleaning), especially if your floors are dirty.
5. Do NOT keep using the same pad side once it is dirty (so, check the bottom as you go) or your floors will not be cleaned and look streaky when they dry.
6. I don't *think* this mop actually gets hot enough to really sanitize (I'm not sure if any of them do), but I spray/squirt some vinegar on the floor as I go and mop over that and it seems to work.
7. The steam mop is made of hard plastic, so I'm not sure how well the handle itself is going to last over time with repeated pumpings, etc. I've noticed several reviewers commenting on a broken handle. I would say there is alot of truth in that ... since the manufacturer sells JUST the HANDLE for ~$30 as a "replacement part" on its website ... and I personally think that is an odd "replacement" part (so they must have ALOT of handles breaking). Still, I have not found anything else that does the job like this mop.

Overall, I am VERY HAPPY with this mop! Actually, don't mind (as much) cleaning the floors now ... since they do truly get clean!

UPDATE April 2011: My mop is still working fine with no issues (thank goodness). The pads are heavily stained (even Clorox won't get the stains out) and have started to wear through and need to be replaced. My mom also purchased one a few months after I did and her handle broke within a month of very LIGHT use. The manufacturer was useless in helping her and said that she could buy the replacement handle (no thank you) or PAY to have it shipped back to them to inspect and fix or replace (their option). Anyway, she just returned it where she purchased it and got all of her money back. I would say that this mop does appear to have QUALITY CONTROL ISSUES. If you get a good one, consider yourself LUCKY. If you get a bad one (which the chances are greater than 50/50), then hopefully you purchased from a store with an EXCELLENT and longer-lasting RETURN POLICY as the manufacturer will NOT help you. It also appears that some of these quality control issues could be dangerous (beyond a broken handle). I am still using mine and happy with the results, but am now a little more cautious.

I purchased this mop from walmart today and was very excited to get home and try it out on my kitchen floor. Assembly was easy and took all of 3 minutes. When you use it the first time, it takes awhile for the water to heat up and start but once it got going i quickly discovered that I didn't like it...

First- It's very hard to push forward. Sliding it back is fine but you really have to push hard and at a certain angle to get the darn thing to even move forward. Needless to say my arm was killing me by the time i finished the entire floor.

Second- The steam didn't get very hot. It did and ok job on areas that were already decently clean. But it didn't pick up the oil that splattered around my stove last night from the fried chicken i fried, or the grease spots at the back door from my boyfriends work boots. I tried letting the steam sit on it for awhile and then tried to steam mop it but it just smeared the oil around. I ended up pouring some hot water on it and using some pine sol and my old mop to pick it up and that did the trick ,but i followed with the steam mop to get up the pine sol residue.

Third- I hate that you have to constantly pump the darn mop to get any steam out. Very annoying. I am keeping it however to use in my laundry room in the basement since it's the only room in my basement that has no carpet and it would save me from dragging another one up and down the stairs plus I wouldnt have to use it often (Thank Goodness).

I was very dissappointed with this product overall and would not recommend it.

I bought this because I was tired of using my old cotton top mop on my kitchen floor. With two dogs and two kids, that floor was always dirty!

I brought it home, had it assembled quickly, put some tap water in it and let 'er rip.

So the good first. It really really cleans the floors well. Almost as good as washing by hand. The unit is very easy to use, just plug it in, pump the handle a few times, and it's ready to go in 30 seconds. I spray some cleaner on the floor and steam mop the floor to a shine. The heads and pads are very easy to change, and the pad washes well in the sink to get it ready for another use.

The bad is just a slight niggle to me. It doesn't do corners well, and the cord is super long.

All in all I couldn't be happier with this product. I've had it a month now and love cleaning the floor! On rainy days I even skip the vaccuum part and just steam mop the paw prints off the floor, sometimes several times a day. I love this mop!

This mop is still going strong!

I wash the pads when they get dirty and make sure there is water in the mop.

I "solved" the cord length problem by tying very loose knots in it. Bad- I know.

I can't say enough good things about how this mop steam cleans my ceramic kitchen floor :)

I've had my Shark steam mop for a few years now. I've had other Shark products and was always happy with their products so thought I'd dry this new steam mop. I was so thrilled to get this mop- love it!

The fact that it makes steam indicates that it IS hot enough to kill germs. I haven't had any problem with pushing or pulling the mop (maybe it's the angle the others are pushing it?) and when you move it back and forth, it pumps itself- not like you have to stop and pump it. Personally, I love this mop and have gotten my $$ back and more with it's use. One reviewer seemed worried about the handle- mine is just as strong as the day I got it. I would highly recommend this mop to anyone!

I ordered my Shark on Monday the 23rd order said it would be delivered in a week. Received my Shark in TWO days. I unpacked and put it together in less then 5 minutes. Immediately used it. What a BREEZE. Easy to manuver and was really pleased with how easy it works and cleans. I have ceramic flooring. I used it again the following morning and could not believe how much more dirt it picked up. With the second washing I started to notice the grout is getting cleaner. I could use this every day of the week and it would take less then 10 minutes to clean my 12 x 20 foot kitchen floor, no water streaks and drys in minutes. Since we have well water I use distilled water to protect the inner parts. My only disappointment is that the triangle did not come with it. I highly recommend the Shark S3501.

I WAS absolutely in love with this machine until today! We recieved this cleaner for Christmas last year and I have been using it weekly/bi-weekly on the lower level of my home which is pretty much all tile. Today, it simply stopped working! I checked the water and changed power outlets and nothing! It just stopped working half way through my cleaning. I will be trying out another brand next!

i bought this after reading about 50 reviews of the competitor steamers. The "flip over" feature someone raved about really is nice to prevent you from changing pads. one pad (flipped over onced using both sides) does about 1500 sq ft of my home. I only mop with chemicals about once per month and make my 12 year old use this twice a week for stains---she doesn't mind using it--kinda fun to use! really does get stains off

I used this steamer less than ten times when the large rectangular attachment inexplicably stopped working... no steam would come out. I called customer service and guess what? That's not covered under warranty but they'll gladly send me a new part for just $30. Gee, thanks!
