Comfortable, long, and sleek
on October 23, 2013
I got a pair of these in both 8 and 6, because reviewers for other pull-on Jag jeans said they run big and also might stretch/sag over the course of the day. The labels read "Peri-Straight XL."
I'm ~5'10" and ~163 lbs and usually wear size 8-10. I'm sitting in the 6's right now and they're very comfortable, even around the waist. The elastic in the material has just enough give for comfort. They were tight going over the hips (had to do the tight-jeans dance), but once they were settled they were just right and do not constrict.
I have a longer than average torso, so these sit an inch or so below my actual waist. The top of the waistband in front is rolled just a bit while sitting, though I think if they came up to my actual waist they'd roll more.
They're good-looking jeans, and the legs are long enough even at my height with some to spare (30.5" inseam; the jeans are about 32"). I love that the front panel is flat; it's flattering under t-shirts and sweaters where a zipper would bulge. It's a nice, sleek look.
The only issue I have right now is a bit of a chemical smell. Apparently this is common these days with dark blue or black jeans. Mine are Anchor Blue, a deep indigo. It's not too bad (and I am fairly chemical sensitive), but I am noticing it. Hopefully a couple of washes will improve things.
UPDATE: I've soaked these several times overnight in vinegar, and washed them about a half dozen times (warm/warm). The smell is much diminished but not entirely gone. I suspect with time they'll be fine. They handled the repeated washings well, without shrinking or fading.
