First off, I have rather a respectable collection of the current and prior year's short-sleeve button-downs from Dockers. They are terrific shirts that fit true to the label and hold up under washer/ dryer cycles without a hitch. The Dockers short-sleeve button-downs I bought in 2007 survived 6 years of weekly washings with no problems before I donated them.
So, don't let this review shape your opinion of their shirts of late. It is simply a warning that this particular shirt, the calendarized poplin, is a doozie. It is to be avoided.
Like many clothing manufacturers, Dockers apparently contracted a specific color scheme of a certain item to a different factory. The difference in quality and fit is obvious. The size Large fits more like a Medium. The sleeves are too long -- almost hitting the elbows. It is 100% cotton while the others are a blend. So, it is a thick, heavy fabric as opposed to the lightweight, sleek feel of the others. It is somewhat wide and slightly too short. I can almost expect it to be a shirt that I'll have to repeatedly re-tuck throughout the day.
For the price, it's what you can expect. But, Dockers has been and still is a brand that offers value exceeding price. Their short-sleeve button-downs are quality, tasteful and true-to-fit shirts. But, the calendarized cotton poplin mini check shirt is to be avoided.
