use carols daughter conditioner (or whatever curly hair conditioner) and run your fingers throughout all the strands to get out

I'm one of the few Chinese people with naturally curly hair..so it's hard to figure out what products to use since a lot of labels seem to target anyone but Asian.. but it doesn't matter what the labels say,.. I've used multicultural hair products.. hair is hair.
I have mostly 3A curls, live in Houston which is hot and humid, and have had shoulder length to lower back length hair. My routine involves this product and it gives me defined, soft curls after i break the curl cast.
The steps: wash scalp and root of hair with deva curl no-poo, rinse, do NOT squeeze any water out, flip head upside-down away from water, use carols daughter conditioner (or whatever curly hair conditioner) and run your fingers throughout all the strands to get out excess hair and to feel a good slip within all the strands, leave most of the conditioner in (you can wash some out or leave it all in depending on the weather and dryness of your hair), still upside-down. ...apply the Kinky custard using your hands like walls... sandwich hair between your palms and slide down.. at this point, you're trying to keep your curls together, don't run your fingers through the hair or you'll create stringy curls, do not wash out. head still upside-down, with your palms at the ends of hair, move palms upwards towards scalp and squeeze some excess water out.. you're using this motion to encourage the curl pattern. use a cotton t-shirt, microfiber towel, or curly hair towel to wrap your hair in to absorb excessive moisture... don't use a Terry towel bc the little loops in the towel will cause stringy, frizzier curls. I take the towel off and air dry.. some people like using diffusers and hair clips at the roots to prevent flatter hair at the top since wet hair can weigh down quite a bit. after the hair dries, using the cupping upward motion to squeeze and break the curl cast (the crispy feel of gel). Kinky custard doesn't leave a white powdery mess after its scrunched.
