I did not have an extended service contract with my D7000. A one year camera guarantee only.

I keep all the papers with my purchases. Although I never buy the extended warranties I keep the papers. I do not have an extended warranty paper with all that I have kept. I do have the one year warranty paper. I only purchased the body

Yes you get this warranty free of cost. But I purchased it about 6 months back and dont know what are the rules right now.
