Can you take still photos while the camera is taking video?

Yes, you can take photos while recording a video. I took videos during an air show and took pictures wile in video mode.

In my test I could, but the video stopped!
The answer seems to be no.
My other older camera S3IS does not have that problem.
If anybody knows how to do this in this camera please post instructions. Thanks

No. Few compacts allow this. For example, the ZS-20 does BUT: picture size is fixed to 3.5-megapixel, 16:9 aspect ratio.

One camera that does allow full-resolution capture during video is the Samsung WB750.
