My family has a long military tradition. My father was a Master Sergeant in the Marine Corp and I was born at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. My father-in-law was a Chief Corspman, my brother a Major in the Air Force, my grandfather served in the Army, and my daughter has applied for a commission as an Air Force nurse. I graduated from Colonial High School, Orlando, Florida, received a BS degree from the US Naval Academy and was commissioned as an ensign on graduation. After commissioning, I received orders to Michigan State University and graduated with a master's degree in Systems Engineering. On completion of Navy Nuclear Power School and Submarine School I reported to the USS Alexander Hamilton (SSBN 617) a ballistic missile submarine. As the Main Propulsion Assistant I supervised a division of 40 nuclear power trained machinist mates and also served as Diving Officer. After leaving active duty I continued in the Naval Reserves and received a Juris Doctorate degree from the College of William & Mary. As a summer intern at NASA's Research Center at Langley I prepared patents on advanced airframe designs. After graduation I worked for Philip Morris and Cooper Industries as Patent Counsel and am currently Senior Patent Counsel, Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York. I am also a Kodak Distinguished Inventor with over 25 patents. During my career I received a number of awards including the Navy Commendation Medal and the American Jurisprudence Award for Excellence in Commercial Law. I am the author of Ishmael's Son, published by The Glencannon Press, 2003, and The Taking of the King, published by Penguin Books, 2006. My third novel, Silent Terror, is being circulated to publishers and a screenplay adaptation of the novel won the 2012 Metropolitan Film Festival Best Script award. My fourth novel, Echoes of Silence, is nearing completion.
