8-27-2022 My books are not like other books. I do not write tropes and trends, and never will. I write the story that needs telling. My characters do not always live happily ever after. Not everything will be neatly tied up with a bow. Sometimes the ending will be very messy indeed. I do not issue trigger warnings. If you have a trigger, I'll probably trip it. ----------------- Arlyn: Adjutant & Apostle. -- The story partially revolves around Arlyn having to deal with Mal de Debarquement Syndrome (MDDS), an insidious disorder that even doctors can't figure out the cause. Some think it's hormonal, others think it's to do with the inner ear. Here, have some antidepressants and cross your fingers it goes away. This is the first fiction book that I have ever seen to deal with the condition. ---------------------- What is Kingdom Key? The Kingdom Key series chronicles a life quest that will take a teenage girl from a dead-end blue collar town to the cusp of omniscience. If she can survive the trials of her own body and mind, and the hostilities of those who don't want her to fulfill her ultimate destiny, she may well become the next galaxy-creating goddess. Kingdom Key is 10 volumes and crosses over with my Gethis series at several points. ---------------------- So...What IS Gethis? Gethis is a little nothing of a planet with intense happenings. Closed off until the era of The Healer, it is very tightly focused on itself. Each country has its own laws and ways of doing and being. Each has its own ways of treating citizens and slaves. They are not carbon copies of each other. Events in one book reverberate into others. Characters appear in numerous books of the same era and paths cross more than once. This is a planet on which the gods are real beings and have direct influence on the lives of anyone they want to play with. And they do. The Kingdom Key series has to do with the rest of the galaxy. The last book of that series will have major repercussions on Gethis. These are touched on but not explained in Arlyn the Deliverer, and touched on again in Gloriana. Gethis covers more than 25,000 years of human existence. But there's a third series page! Yes, there is. The Culpation League -- a prison like no other, created for a very specific purpose (as explained at the end of Peeper Indomitable). It crosses over with both the Gethis series and Kingdom Key at different points and through different characters. It all comes together in the last Kingdom Key book, currently titled Dream On. ---------------------- I rarely write a thin book! I've been told "your books take commitment" by the man who helps to run the IPPY Awards. Like that was a bad thing and a reason not to win. I have wondered ever since when it happened that a meaty book needing time and a little effort to get through became a bad thing. When did it happen that books are to be simple brain candy for passing time rather than something that expands the mind? When did an immersive reading experience become a bad thing? I will not change what I write or how. While I have my short novel series, I will absolutely continue to produce books of substance that take time to finish as the reader becomes absorbed and forgets the world for a while. I will write things the reader will get something different out of each time they read it. It's what I grew up with and what I will maintain. Books are for thought, not mindlessly passing the time. ---------------------- About Me I have lived in NYC since February 29, 2000 but have a middle class, blue collar, Midwest upbringing. (My home town of Toledo, OH is featured in my Kingdom Key series). My erotica and SM are detailed because I have first hand experience. Have I done everything in my books? Nope. I've done enough that I don't have to conduct research in the internet. I know people I can meet for coffee and consult if I need to. But I've really not needed to much. ------------------- My books are not available on other retail websites. I love the idea of my books showing up in Barnes & Noble's website, and sat looking at them for several minutes. My ego liked it very much. But I don't think I should have to pay for the privilege of letting them list my work. Their profits come out of my royalties. They're offering the same books for the same price and I get half the royalties for it. My choice is either to take less money myself or charge you more money to keep my royalty the same. I don't think that's fair to either of us. I also don't like sellers I know damn well don't have copies of my work trying to make people pay twice as much money for them. My Beleagrrred Sadist book is not worth $28 and my crochet book is not worth $33, let alone $71! I'm offended that someone would try to rip off my readers in that manner. And they do not have a used copy in their possession. They have NO copy on hand. Therefore, my books are only available through Amazon.com, or by purchasing directly from me. If other sellers have them listed, they do not actually have the book on hand. They will have to order a copy and have it printed and sent to you; and they'll have to buy it at full Amazon price because I do not have them available for third party sellers to purchase at wholesale. MATCHBOOK Program I have enrolled all books possible in the "Matchbook" program for FREE! When you purchase a print copy through Amazon.com's official listing, you can get the Kindle version for free. I write for my readers to enjoy a good story, not for everyone else in the world to make a bucket of money off you. TylerRose.
