The Grand Opening of the Spinning Wheel 2 has begun! The doors are officially open!

Welcome to The Spinning Wheel 2! This is the 2nd generation of The Spinning Wheel. The original Spinning Wheel closed its doors after 10,000 posts. The tiny url to The (Original) Spinning Wheel is: http://amzn.to/SpinningWheel. The posts are still there for anyone who would like to go over and browse around but you will not be able to reply to any of those posts.

My name is Kristie Leigh Maguire. I am the proprietor of The Spinning Wheel. I am an author and an avid reader. I look forward to getting to know all of you who enter and welcome you to make The Spinning Wheel 2 your home away from home.

Everyone who loves to read is welcome to enter The Spinning Wheel 2. That means both authors and readers. Without authors, there would be no readers. Without readers, where would authors be? Although everyone who loves to read is welcome here at The Spinning Wheel 2, we do NOT welcome negative attitudes. Please wipe off any negative attitudes on the welcome mat before entering this building.

Please introduce yourself as you come in. Help yourself to coffee, tea, or the non-alcoholic beverage of your choice, and some of the wonderful goodies that magically appear here via the courtesy of our patrons.

The Spinning Wheel 2 is located in a lovely old white brick building on the main street of Amazon Kindle Land. The navy shutters framing the double windows on each side of the door creates a nice contrast to the mellow yellow lettering against a sea foam green background of The Spinning Wheel 2 sign over the door.

Inside we have rows and rows of books on shelves with pots of ivy and geraniums scattered around. The scent of mulled cider candles combined with the smell of homemade oatmeal cookies and coffee drifting through the air creates an enticing aroma that is hard to resist.

Miss Daisy, the resident cat, loves to curl up and snooze on the top bookshelf. Ralph, the resident dog, likes it best in front of the potbellied stove in the corner. It always seems cold on that side of the room so we keep the fire burning all the time. Feel free to wander over and warm yourself and throw a log on the fire if it needs it. Across from the potbellied stove is the lounge area with enough comfortable easy chairs for everyone to have a place to sit, relax, and enjoy a good book.

In the back of The Spinning Wheel is a screened in sun porch with plenty of hammocks for relaxing while the bamboo fans stir the air. Down the lawn from the sun porch is Lake Serenity, which is a wonderful place to watch the sunset. We have The Animal House down by the lake. You are welcome to bring your pets and let them play while visiting The Spinning Wheel 2.

Authors, feel free to place your book(s) on our shelves by posting the blurb for your book and the purchase link when you first come in. Thereafter please limit to just placing a link to your book when you post or when you feel it is appropriate. We do have scheduled author readings here at The Spinning Wheel 2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you would like to schedule a reading, post a message on the bulletin board at The Spinning Wheel 2 and let me know. I will reply to you with a date that you will need to confirm. I do not send out emails.

There are so many books just waiting to be read. Open your mind. Explore new possibilities. Think beyond what has normally been your comfort zone. If you aren't up to exploring new genres, we are bound to have something you will like on our shelves. The possibilities are endless.

Pick up a book. Download a sample, add it to your Wish List, or one click it. Browse to your heart's content. Our bookshelves are crammed to overflowing with lots of books for everyone. Head on over to the lounge area if you would like to discuss the books with others. If you hang around long enough you might even get to discuss the books with the authors who wrote them!

Don't forget to read the sign hanging on the wall of the lounge: "Treat others as you would like to be treated. Respect goes a long way in keeping The Spinning Wheel 2 a friendly little old-fashioned bookstore where everyone is welcome."

Guidelines for Author Readings:
To Authors:
(1) Introduce yourself.
(2)Post your book blurb.
(3)Post excerpts from your book.
(4)Post the product link to your Amazon book page.
(5)Drop in The Spinning Wheel off and on during the day to talk with the readers and answer any questions they may ask.
(6)If you are already on the Indie Authors Gallery (http://amzn.to/IndieGallery) please create a tiny URL for your reading and leave it there.
(7)If you are a new author to the Gallery please leave your details in this format, three lines per book with author name at top if it is not your forum name.
*Book link
*Genres (maximum three)
*Reading URL

To Readers:
(1)It would really be nice for everyone to download a sample so they will really know what the book is about but readers should be able to pick up from the posted excerpts.
(2)If you think you might like to purchase the book but don't have the money to do so right now or just can't right now for whatever reason, just add it to your wish list at Amazon so you can one click it later if you want to.
(3)Be sure to talk with the authors on their day. Nothing like doing a reading and no one talks to you. :)

*waving at Sean*

Did you transmit over safe and sound, Sean? You're not mutated are you?

P. R. Jordan says:
I thought Kristie lost her keys for a moment then.

Okay did we all transmat okay? No two headed patrons?

Good, let's get going.

*Peter looks at the bookshelves and spies the Royal Blue - Purple cover.* Ahhh IVRRAC, you got duplicated okay. Hmmm is this a copyright violation? I'll let them away with it this once.

That was sneaky, Sean! You slid in before Kristie officially opened SW2. I SAW YOU!!!

Let me check..... I think I'm fine. :)

*sinks right into the beanbag chair*

For the new folks here. I write under the name John Fitch V, and I'm usually puttering around the place with Ralph, who is my shadow (I've tried to keep him out of the bathroom with me... that's why he smells. Anyway...). I write several genres, including fantasy, sci-fi, sports fiction, thrillers and I dabble a little in horror.

Right now I have several books and short stories in the Kindle Store, such as A Galaxy At War (sci-fi), One Hero, A Savior (Christian-based fantasy), Sidetracked: A Short Story (horror short), Amber Twilight: A Short Story (sci-fi short), and Vuvuzombie (horror short). My baseball time travel novel, Turning Back The Clock, should be available again sometime on Oct. 28. My fantasy trilogy should return for sale sometime on Halloween or Nov. 1, if everything goes well.

Hope you all enjoy it here in the Spinning Wheel.

John Fitch V

I did... I did... but since she closed the old one, the new one was officially opened. :)

He sure did! I think he mutated during the move!

It all looks wonderful, Kristie. And thank you for setting up my lovely comfy chair again.

I have to admit I'm having lots of fun with the Indie Authors Gallery (http://amzn.to/IndieGallery) and I'm so glad everyone is finding it useful. I'm working on the plans for a major extension which I hope to build soon :-)

Cheers
Julie

I managed to get the last 2 posts in over at the old SW for a sign post to the new SW2 and a goodbye to the old place.

Did everyone make it over from the old SW? No mutations except for Sean who pulled a sneaky on us but we forgive him.

Everyone find your places. It may be just the opposite from the old SW because of a malfunction of the transmut thingie and the dup-o-matic we used to make the move.

Why is everyone looking at me? Do I have 2 heads? HELP! I mutated during the move!

Night, Julie! Or afternoon or morning or whatever it is on the other side of the world. Thanks for partying down with us for the moving party. :)

I tried the mutation device... kinda like a mind control device, only it backfired.

Edited - Forgot to say "Bye Julie" - oooops

Teatime for me. The kids have gone strangely quiet - very worrying. 6 and a 2 year old should be screaming the house down. Wife's away sleeping at her work (30 min drive away) for a break so I'm IT for them tonight.

See you all laters.

Later, Peter! When the kids get too quiet, you know something is up with them.

I should head to bed... had a long day, and the next few days will be as long, too.
