Are these compatible with Macs? I had a very similar 2.0 hard drive (toshiba) that was Mac compatible once i reformatted it. Would this be similar?

No. Macbook Pro with Mac OsX Lion does not recognize this drive in DiskUtility.

I am on an iMac and it doesn't work... Very disappointed. Especially because the specs indicate it is backwards compatible with USB 2.0

ps. It works on iMac (Lion), so this might be an issue with power on USB bus.

According to the manufacturer and the box, the Canvio 3.0 plus works with both PC & MAC and NTFS driver for MAC is pre-loaded.
