In terms of sound, I've done some comparison tests with a supposedly higher-class pair of in-ear style headphones -- the Klipsch IMAGE S4 In-Ear Enhanced Bass Noise-Isolating Headphones -- and to be honest, the difference in quality is not too noticeable (if at all). When I'm sitting perfectly still, in a quiet setting, listening to delicate classical music, I would say the latter's range is quite stunning. Everything from the high trebles to the pounding bass is crisp and perfectly smooth. However, here (and only here) is where the Klipsch S4 may just outshine these eco-friendly Thinksounds (the range for the S4s is 10Hz - 19KHz, while the Thinksounds can handle 20Hz to 20kHz).
But back to the Thinksounds...if you're the type who doesn't sit in a dead-quiet environment to analyze minuscule details in sound-quality, but rather listens to music in any average setting, the sound is truly quite wonderful. I've had the best experience with music that requires a little more bass, and an equal amount of mid and high-level tones (think hip-hop, pop, dance, even rock). However, very bass-heavy music can be a bit of a strain, and I noticed that the 10mm speakers have trouble distinguishing notes in bass-heavy melodies. Other than that, the quality is surprisingly noticeable for a pair of headphones in the 50 dollar range, and is definitely competing in many ways with the 80-100 dollar S4.
In terms of build-quality, and general usability, a long cord (supposedly PVC-free) connects to a very sturdy gold-plated straight plug.Read more ›
What I like about the thinksound TS01s:
While these are tuned for bass, I don't think it's overly-tuned--it's more subtle, I'd call it a "rich" sound, for my ears than some of the bass-tuned headphones I'd tried out. It sounds a bit cheesy, but I have literally heard parts of my songs in my music collection that I didn't know were there. I love the multiple ear fittings that accompany the earbuds, as I ended up using one size for one ear, another size for the other. The fittings are very flexible and I don't have any problems with them popping out while I'm out and about. The wood is attractive and very light and comfortable; there are no hard edges in these earbuds like there were with my standard iPod earbuds. They look really sharp. The noise-canceling qualities were a real surprise--I didn't expect them to be able to block out almost all but the loudest noises, since they're not an over the ear headphone, but they do. Finally, I so appreciate thinksound's approach to packaging and product design. There is no PVC in these earbuds, which was a huge draw for me, since I try to avoid that material when possible, since its manufacturing and disposal is so toxic. The packaging was extremely minimal and recyclable or reusable.
What I don't like about the thinksound TS01s:
My one criticism is that the cord is somewhat delicate.Read more ›

These are 'ok'. I'm a little disappointed by the texture in the mids. They are not very punchy for something called "enhanced bass". For $50, I think I would pass. Read morePublished 29 days ago by Luke Wells
I love these headphones! They are my favorite earbuds that I've ever had. Apparently my ears are MUCH smaller than average, so I struggle to find earbuds that fit, but the smallest... Read morePublished 2 months ago by Laura Griscom
The glue securing the earphones to the wood backing came loose. I had to use epoxy glue to glue them back together. This happens very often for wooden earpieces, I noticed. Read morePublished 3 months ago by TransLorentz
I have had these headphones for 5 months. I use them rarely and only at work so they sit on my desk most of the time. 3 months after purchasing the earbud came off the wire. Read morePublished 4 months ago by J. Scott
These are fantastic earbuds, good detail with a rich sound. Lots of bass, but not muddy at all. The treble can be a little harsh at times, but overall these are the best ones I've... Read morePublished 4 months ago by Amazon Customer
