No matter what brand of soft crate you are considering, they are ALL going to hold up the same based on the temperament of your dog or cat.
The major differences of soft crates on Amazon or your local store are color, weight, size, style, strap or no strap, and # of doors.
Before I purchased this product, I went to local petsmart and looked at one by "Nature's Miracle". This gave me a chance to physically compare the two when I received this product.
I looked at every soft crate available on the market. My second choice would have been the EliteField soft crate.
This soft crate is very lightweight and very easy to set up.
There is NO dangling fabric inside the crate.....as another person reviewing this product said.
I don't recommend purchasing 'SOFT' crate if your dog or cat is not crate trained or is prone to get all restless.
I use a steel crate at home, and I use soft crate for traveling and short trips to the vet.
On every brand of soft crate, you will find numerous negative reviews, for example "My dog chews my cloths, shreds the carpet with her paws, and eats all the pillows in the house. But I don't understand why our dog chews the soft fabric on the crate so I'm giving this product 1 star". People are so funny sometimes :)
PS. I purchased one that's Maroon Red....and it really is darker red.
1. 4 unzip-able doors, one on top, one on the side and one in the front and the back that all have Velcro straps to hold them open.
2. soft fabric cushion inside that unzips to wash the outer fabric
3. nice over the shoulder handles
4. it folds up for compact storage
5. and it's sturdy and well made (and looks nice too)
My only suggestion is some loops at the base somewhere to easily seat belt it in. I seat belted the shoulder straps in but something at the base would have been nice. Overall though I think it's a very nice and thoughtful design.
This is a well designed, well made carrier that's easy to fold up and store. It has lots of open, netted viewing areas for your pet to look out and the padding is perfect. We love this carrier. Thanks!!
He did figure out how to open the zippers though - on the way home from the vet, while the car was moving, and with the top down. SCARY!! He responds well to commands, and stayed in the floorboard until I could get the top up. 20 seconds of panic, to be sure! I've since taken to tying the zippers together when we're traveling. The vet's office says some come with zip-ties attached, so I'm sad to report he's not the first kitty to figure that one out. :-)
I have also taken to leaving the carrier on the spare bed, with a blanket inside - and have caught him napping in there on more than one occasion. When I have guests it breaks down very quickly and folds for storage. Easy!
