First, the velcros used are too strong. At first use, the velcro at the top unglued from the cardboard (instead of un-velcro-ing). At the second use, the velcro's adhesive pad tore off the cardboard itself. After just two uses, the effort required to un-velcro (or rather, unglue) the top part already bent the cardboard. The manufacturer informed me that they are working to resolve the issue, but that does not mean you'll get the fixed version when buying here.

More importantly, the lenses I got in my kit are utter crap, with lots of bluriness and distortion. I have a v1 cardboard from a different manufacturer, and the difference is night and day. V2 is supposed to be more immersive, but due to subpar lenses this is not immersive at all! I took some pictures that demonstrate the artifacts and sent those to IAmCardboard - still have to receive any response from them. Unfortunately, I bought this v2 directly from manufacturer's website, so I can't take the issue to Amazon. Hope Paypal dispute resolution works out.

EDIT: attached photos made through the lens. You can see how the lines (originally straight on the screen) are all curved and blurry (even with the low resolution Amazon uses). The greenish-yellowish spots in the center are the moire pattern - that is, the only part of the lens that's in focus. Note that some curvature and blurring along the edges is actually normal, but here its almost all over the lens!

Other's have said it. The cardboard used was really weak and the hook-loop fastener is absurdly strong. It requires a few minutes to undo the fastener or you'll mangle the cardboard.

Once I had my phone situated, I found that it was easier to just slide my phone in and out from the side instead of trying to wrestle with the fastener. If you have this unit—and it works for you—I'd recommend sliding the phone in and out instead of opening. That will probably prolong the life of the unit.

The unit looks good. I think it would be fine once you get it set up. For me, I couldn't use it at all because it seems to be made for people with a very small IPD. Though I do have a wide face so maybe most people might not have problems with this unit. Everything was out of focus and I couldn't get a good image.

The v2.0 button is a better idea than the magnet, which only works on certain phones. However, this particular cardboard has a few flaws.

It looks really nice from the package. Came in a carrying card box. The problem is that the cardboard is too flimsy compared to the strength of the velcro. The card board bends severely after a few open-close to put your phone in and out. The glue between the cardboard and the velcro tab is also very weak. The velcro tab became detached from the cardboard when I was trying to open up the cardboard to take my phone out.

I "looks" good, but the quality is lacking.

The concept and cheap entry point (save the cost of a high-end phone) into VR is amazing. Everyone I've shown this to has been amazed and loved it, even those who got motion sickness from the rollercoaster. The cost is a bit high for what you're actually buying (folded up cardboard, two lenses, and some conductive fabric).

This is not meant to be folded up into the box again in my opinion. The strong adhesive pulled some of the cardboard up from the panel that secures your phone in place. A little superglue fixed that but I wont be folding it back up, instead i'll slide my phone into the pocket.

If you're on the fence, this is a good way to try it. If you are willing to take my word on how well it works, buy one of the plastic molded headsets.

Using it with an LG G4 (no case) and it fits nicely. Button touches the screen with no problem.

Only downside is the top Velcro piece is a bit strong - mine tore off when I tried to open it the first time. Reglued it and I've just been more careful since. All in all, a well constructed Google Cardboard v2.0 viewer!

Works well with wide variety of phone. I deducted one star as the velcro ripped loose from the cardboard on one side pretty quickly. Still usable though.

Would be nice to have more/better apps to use it, but that is not really a ding on this product per se. Just something to be aware of.

The build quality is not bad and it's easy to put together but the VR quality is exactly what you pay for. Save up and get an oculus or something better. This is nothing more than a fun toy for a few minutes.

I'll get down to the nitty gritty of the review. Like many here the glue for the Velcro is stronger than the cardboard and mine ripped apart. I've repaired it but I still feel that for the price it should be slightly more sturdy.
