I have been trapping pocket gophers for over 20 years on my mini farm in Arizona. I have used every sort of trap there is from $5.00 per trap to $25.00 per trap. I have used every type of poison. I say this in all honesty and have no connection to the company or sellers in any way shape or form. THIS TRAP IS THE MOST EFFECTIVE TARP I HAVE EVER USED. It is also good for tree rats and other small rodents but the best part of it is this.
You watch for a gopher mound. You dig into it until you find the tunnel. If it goes both ways you dig so you have room to set two traps back to back facing the tunnels in opposite directions. You square off the tunnel entrances with a shovel and place the trap right up to the hole so the gopher sees light through the nickel sized hole in the trap. Come back the next day or even later in the evening and YOU WILL HAVE YOUR GOPHER.
I am amazed at how well it works. I just started using these traps again. Not that I did not have success but wanted to try other traps. NOTHING WORKS LIKE THIS TRAP. I swear that it is the absolute best gopher trap I have ever used and no bait of any kind necessary. You will not be disappointed. I used to think the "Old Reliable" type of trap with opposing jaws was the best but the gophers get used to them and they are harder to set and shove into the tunnel. With these traps just make sure the entrance end of the trap is flush against the tunnel so the gopher only sees the light through the small hole on the opposite end. I think the gopher sees the hole like it is a longer way away like looking through a long tunnel but in fact the hole is only about 6 inches away from the entrance of the trap so the animal rushes to the hole only to be snared by the pressure bar. No blood, no guts, Just a dead gopher.
Easy to set. Easy to position. and extremely easy to release the dead gopher. You neve have to touch the animal. I highly recommend this product.

Gopher gotcha
Add a carrot and the job is done. I hate killing gophers or any other critter, but when it comes to a choice of having a garden or not, the gopher loses.
