I gave this as a Christmas gift to my son-in-law. I choose this one after doing a lot of research, since I've never done hot yoga. I can't tolerate the heat of hot yoga classes. I don't do much yoga anyway, just restorative, if any.

My son-in-law had asked me for a yoga towel and only specified colors he wanted one in (any dark shade), nothing more. After doing some online research, I then went to a local retailer that sells yoga gear and questioned some customers and staff on preferences. Many recommended this one, others another brand. I bought both brands. The Yogitoes towel I got here, as it was the best price I could find. I gave it to my son-in-law. The other two I got at another online shop to give to my daughters, but I've since learned my two daughters are no longer doing much yoga and won't need the towels. I said I'll use one towel for stretching at the gym, since the mats there are nasty and I hate laying on them. So my younger daughter gave me hers. My married daughter said she will do the same, but since she works out at home, she will just use it on her carpet, since it's not very clean either and she doesn't use a mat at home. She might just give it to her husband though.

Anyway, since this is a review of the Yogitoes towel, I asked him today for pros and cons, any comments at all. He had been using a beach towel, prior to getting this one, which wasn't ideal at all. He texted me these comments today:
1. Sticks well.
2. I didn't need to do anything to assist it to stick.
3. Absorbs well.
4. Washes easily - I air dry mine on the clothes rack, since it's winter and we don't have an outside line up right now.
5. I don't have anything negative to say about it.

I love my yogitoes!. Color is a bit darker than the picture.

PROS:
- I use it for hoy yoga and I can say it actually is a non-slip yoga mat
- The towel will keep in place on your mat and floor, or carpet
- Love the fact that is made using recycled plastic bottles
- It's odor free (I've used it a week in a row in hot yoga)
- It's lightweight
- Soft and absorbent
- Easy to wash and wont stain your cloth

CONS
- Even thought I love this I still think it's pricey for a yoga towel
- It's Air dry , you can't put it in the dryer

I did not receive any discount or anything. I bought it myself and I'm happy with the product.

I've tried 7 different types of mat towels. Yogitoes Skidless is for sure the Cadillac. The only draw back is the price. Still very pricey. But....I'm replacing all of my other towels with them as I can afford to. The fabric has a good slip coefficient and does not get slippery when wet. The main benefit of the silicone dots on the bottom is to add weight to keep the mat down during practice. In comparison the YogaRat towel (my 2nd favorite) is very similar to this fabric, but without the silicone dots. So, although it doesn't slip much at all, it is lighter and I tend to kick it when transitioning between poses. So....Yogitoes is by far my 1st choice. I practice hot yoga daily so my 1st Yogitoes mat towel has seen a lot of use in the last year+, with laundering after each use....no dryer/hung dry. It's hard to tell it from the new one that I just added. Very durable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. You won't be disappointed.

I put off buying this for a long time as it is so expensive. Have been doing hot yoga in a room heated to 90 degrees for about six months now. I'm not a big sweater but in this class it actually rolls off me and drips on to the mat. I have a very old Manduka pro mat which is great for cushioning but in the heated class, with the sweat dripping off me, I was slipping and it was starting to scare me. Bought this towel in dark gray (metal). Washed twice in cold water/air dry before using. I found that when I put it down on the mat, it did move around a little. I soaked a regular terry towel and just pressed some moisture from that towel on to the Yogitoes towel -- just enough to get it a little wet but not saturate it. That did make a difference, and kept it locked down, for the most part. Still found that when I scraped my foot along the towel when transitioning between poses, that the towel bunched up a little. It is not a perfect solution but it is a very big improvement over not having it at all. I feel much more relaxed and able to concentrate on what I'm doing, without the background anxiety about slipping.

Now this is something that you usually try to hide from public consumption, but lets be honest, I sweat more than the average human being, so Yogitoes has been somewhat of a lifesaver for me. This towel is perfect for your Bikram or heated Vinyasa practice, as it will absorb the sweat as quickly as it begins to puddle beneath you.

As an added bonus, the silicone eco nubs on the bottom of the mat both keep the towel in place and are friendly to mother nature. Other reviewers have complained that this towel slips around their mat during practice, but I have not found this to be the case. Although the towel can be initially slippery at the beginning of one's class, I simply spray down the corners and the area where my hands will grip for a "downward dog" with water and the problem is solved. In fact, if sprayed with water, the towel becomes the perfect sort of "tacky texture" one needs during a vigorous yoga practice.

Although it is bit pricey, this towel is worth every penny if you participate in any form of heated yoga. I practice 3-4x per week, and after a year this towel remains in great shape. Just make sure you do not use any fabric softeners or dryer sheets when laundering this product, or it will actually lose its grip and much renowned tackiness.
